SENIOR CITIZENS COMMISSION
October 10, 1979
The regular meeting of the Senior Citizens Commission was held on Wednesday,
October 10, 1979 at 2:30 P.M., in the City Council Office. The meeting was
called to order by Chairman Wilson Wilmarth.

Minutes of September 12, 1979 were approved.
Minutes of September 19, 1979 (ad hoc meeting) were amended to reads
"I,c). . tax rebate be limited to low income senior citizens over the age of
65, and the handicapped. . . .". Minutes were then approved.
Dwight Saunders, AARP Legislative Chairman spoke on the topic: "How City Taxes
Affect Fort Collins Seniors".
Darryl Farrington reported on the Firewood Committee. The supply of wood on hand
has been allotted and there is no more wood available to make the project work.
He will check further into this matter.
Mr. Wilmarth states that the Senior Citizens Commission is still being referred to
as the "Coordinating Commission for Senior Citizens". He asked that we think about
a new title for our commission and how it can be changed: Also, that we check the
goals for this commission to be carried out in 1980.
Darryl Farrington moves that a committee be appointed to check with the Lincoln
Center ret provisions to accommodate Senior Citizens at its activities. Darryl
Farrington, Betty Peterson, Ed Chilcott and Margo Rosenkranz were appointed to
the committee.
Motion to adjourn made by Ed Chilcott and seconded by Darryl Farrington.
Meeting adjourned.
