Present: Mildred Arnold, Ruby Lynch, Sam Rosenthal, Arlene Simon, Philip
Simon and Joe Campanella. Chris Castorena, a CSU intern .
in Parks and Recreation for the Senior Center, was Nancy Luttropp's
representative as Nancy was out of town.
Absent : Pat Long, Dwight Saunders, Nancy Luttropp, and Ellen Connelly.
Ruby attended the Choices 95 meeting March 21, 1988 and gave a
report. It was an open meeting of ideas and opinions from various people.
No firm decisions by Choices 95 were made. Several people spoke well for
a Senior Center.
Chris explained and destributed the questionnaires to council
members. Through CSU, the questionnaire is now on computer discs. City
and RSVP volunteers will compute the questionnaire results. The completed
questionnaires are to be returned at the May 1$, 1988 meeting. Questionnaires
were filled out by council members present and given to Chris.
A correction of the March minutes was made. The name of Cliff
Barker was corrected to read Cliff Barber.
Joe read a letter from the Review Subcommittee of the city concerning
the merger and/or elimination of various boards and commissions. The Review
suggested the Human Relations Commission, the Commission on Disability and the
Senior Advisory Board be merged and known as the Human Rights Advisory Board.
A discussion of pros and cons for combining above boards ended in the majority
of members thinking the Seniors need their own Advisory Board.
Joe, Mildred and Nancy will meet and reflect the opinions of the
Board in a letter to be presented at the May 3rd meeting of City Council.
There was no new business.
Joe stated the latch Key Program has a $$1,000.00 donation from
Anheuser-Busch, Inc. The upcoming school boel issue vote is holding up
any firm decisions of the Latch Key program. The Senior Service Finder
should be available soon.2C����
