Called Meeting
January 27, 1972
A called meetinr of the Commission was held at 9:00 A.M.
on Thursday, Jamaary 27, 1972, in the City Council C'.ambers.
The rep�ular meetinr scheduled fox° January 12, 1972, was can-
celled due to inclement weather. The purpose of the called
meetinr was consideration of the subject of tax relief for
seniors. The meeting ti�ias open :o the puLlic.

Commision members absent: Rev. Clarence H. Hinkhoase

The tonic of tax relief was centered around an assessment
deferral elan in !,se by the City of 3oulder, Colorado. Mr. Roy
A. Bingman, City Enr*ineer, and Mr. Charles Cain, Director of
Fi.nance, discussed briefly how this >lan mi;%;ht be applied to
the City of Fort Collins. General discussion followed. Mr.
3ingman and Pir. Cain will further study the Boulder plan and,
using it as a guideline, will at the March 8 meeting of the
CD=Assi_on make a presentation of the feasibility of such a
plan for the City of Fort Collins.
The next meeting of the Commission will be held in the
City Council Chambers at 3:30 P.M. on Wednesday, February 9,
1972. This meetin,_*.gill be held in cr;njunction with representa-
tives o'' senior citi.zr,ns F;roups. A copy of these minutes will
be mailed to the represc-ntatives in lieu of a notification of
the meeting. Commission members are requested to be present at
3:00 P.M., the .regular meeting to begin at 3:30 P.M..
