COORDINATING CO\DIISSION FOR SENIOR CITIZENS
August 8, 1973
The regular meeting of the Commission was held in the City Council
Chambers at 3:30 p.m., August 8, 1973.
Members present: W. B. Peterson, Chairman
J. F. Conlon
Fern Douglass
C. E. Hommon
Charles N. Shepardson, Secretary
Members absent: W. J. Boggs
W. R. Deitloff
E. R. Martin

The called meeting for July 25, 1973, was not held due to lack of a
quorum. Minutes of the meeting of July 11, 1973, were approved as mailed.
Amendments to the Bylaws: In light of the Council's action in chang-
ing and coordinating the expiration dates of all members of Council -appointed
boards and commissions, the attached amendments to the Commission's Bylaws
were adopted, and they are herewith transmittal for Council approval.
Election of Officers: As a result of the above action, it was
moved and passed that election of officers for the year ending the second
Wednesday in July, 1974, be held at this time. The Chairman appointed
Mr. Hommon Acting Chairman.
W. B. Peterson was nominated and elected Chairman by acclamation.
C. E. Hommon and E. R. Martin were nominated for Vice Chairman and
Mr. Hommon was elected.
Charles N. Shepardson was nominated and elected Secretary by
acclamation.
Resignation: The resignation of F. N. Jordan for family health
reasons was accepted with regret. Members were requested to submit recommenda-
tions for a replacement for Mr. Jordan which would be transmitted to the Council
for their consideration.
Annual Report: The :annual Report of the Commission for the period
October, 1972, to July, 1973, was approved for submission to the Council.

County Senior Citizens Council: The City Manager reported plans
for a committee including three representatives each from Fort Collins, Loveland,
and Larimer County to fonulate a plan for a County Senior Citizens Council.
It is tentatively planned to appoint the Chairman and Secretary of the Commission
and a staff member from the City. The Chairman and Secretary agreed to serve if
so appointed by the City Council. ,
