It was reported that no action was taken at the meeting called for

more about the Medical Personnel Pool program.
Mrs. Toomey discussed that plan. 4n addition to the Director, an
R.N. Supervisor and office secretary, they maintain a list of available R.N. Is,
L.P.N.'s, Nurses Aides, Orderlies, and Homemakers Aides, who may work full or
part tine and who are available on call. This is a national organization with
branches in several states and in Denver, Colorado. It is a private profit -
making organization. Their fee is 52.80 per hour and covers all types of help
from live-in 24-hour-a-day service to a minimum of 2 hours, one day per week.
The 24-hour live-in service includes room and meals and the rate is adjusted
according to service rendered. The personnel render medical care under super-
vision of a doctor or R.N., do light housekeeping, cooking, shopping, and
similar service but not heavy laundry or house cleaning.
This organization would be glad to contract to provide this service,
billing paying clients and billing the City for non- or part -paying clients with
the subsidized portion being determined by the City.
Mrs. Toomey also reported on the City -run Pueblo plan which is sub-
sidized by state and federal f.nds. Mrs. Douglass agreed to contact Mrs.
Greenwald, Director of the Pueblo program for more information on their plan.
