COORDINATING COMMISSION FOR SENIOR CITIZENS
January 9, 1974
The regular monthly meeting of the Commission was held in the City
Council Chambers at 3:30 p.m. on January 9, 1974.
Members present: W. B. Peterson, Chairman
Charles N. Shepardson, Secretary
W. J. Boggs
Frances Bigelow
J. F. Conlon
C. E. Hommon
Ed Martin
Members absent: W. R. Dietloff
Also present: John McGraw
Jean Portello, Soc. Sec.
Minutes of the meeting of December 12, 1973, were approved as distri-
buted except that Frances Bigelow was changed from present to absent.
Miss Portello reported on the Special Supplemental Security Income
Alert to secure volunteer assistance in locating persons eligible for the new
S.I.A. program for the aged, blind, and disabled with the federal government
taking over numerous aid programs from the states starting January 1, 1974.
(See provisions of program in attached leaflet which was distributed to members
present.)
Mr. Peterson reported on a meeting of the Larimer Weld Agency on
Aging at Windsor on December 27, 1973, regarding the above program. He also
volunteered to get Miss Portello on the A.A.R.P. program on January 17, 1974.
Mr. Peterson reported on the plan of action and budget of the Larimer-
Weld Agency for Aging as reported to the Larimer-Weld Council of Governments
at its last meeting. COG took the report under advisement and will take action
on its approval of the proposal at its meeting in Windsor at 7:30 p.m.,
February 6, 1974.
It was moved, seconded and carried that we change our regular meeting
hour from 3:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. and plan to adjourn by 4 p.m.
Meeting adjourned at 5:15 p.m.
The next regular meeting of the Commission will be held in the City
Council Chambers at 2:30 p.m. on February 13 1974.
