The minutes of the April 13, 1977 meeting were corrected as follows: 1) The
t-.egular meeting of the Coordinating Commission for Senior Citizens was held in
the First Methodist Church at 1005 Stover: 2) Mr. James Conlon was present at
this meeting. 3) The regular election of officers will be held in July at the
regular meeting.
Mr. Robert Perez gave a thorough report on Title VII - The Nutrition Program for
Senior Citizens in Colorado. In 1976 the Salvation Army received$$25,000 grant
and started the first nutrition program. There are 11,000 Senior Citizens in
Larimer County out of which 1100 are in the millionaire class. The nutrition
program is in Loveland, Estes Park, Wellington, Fort Collins, and Berthoud. It
needs to be an on -going community activity. The cost of food is a small part of
the operating expense. There is considerable confusion over the need for the
community center basement to be finished. It is hoped it will be broken into
three parts: 1) Senior Citizen Day Care Center; 2) Eating Room; and 3) meeting
room. To use the lower level of the Community Center for an eating site for the
Nutrition Program would be beneficial to all concerned.
Mr. Robert Perez also reported on the Property Tax meeting in Greeley on April 2,
1977. His interest began when he heard that since he is retired and now a resident
of Colorado, that if he dies, his pension would be multiplied 10 times and his wife
would be required to pay inheritance tax. Inheritance tax is being reviewed by
many interested people.

Ms. Ann Azari reported on the meeting of the Special Committee on Aging held in
March, 1977. Lois Chung has three brochures related to this topic if any of the
members would like to read them.
Jim Conlon discussed a letter from Fred Anderson, President of Senate, dated
May 3, 1977 about Inheritance Tax. The Commission is reviewing this bill and
is happy it has been postponed.
The June 8, 1977 meeting of the Coordinating Commission for Senior Citizens will
be held in the City Council Chambers at 2:30 P.M.
The meeting was adjourned at 4:15 P.M.
Respectfully submitted,
