SENIOR ADVISORY BOARD
July 9, 1.987
Members Present: \Joe Campanella, Sam Rosenthal, Arlene Simon, Philip Simon,
Pat Long, Nancy Luttropp,.Yetta Rollin, Mildred Arnold,
and Roxanne Smock.
Members Absent: Ruby Lynch and Dwight Saunders.
I. Call To Order
Meeting was called to order by Joe Campanella.
II. Review of Minutes
Yetta moved -to approve the minutes as read for May and June.
Sam seconded the motion and all approved.
III. New Business
Joe reported on the task force for senior issues. Discussion was
held on a questionaire published by RSVP to determine the need for
a new publication. There is a possibility of the task force supporting
advertising for the AAA Senior Service Finder.
Phil reported on events at the Senior Center, including Gray Gourmet
activities, Senior Olympics, and the 80's Plus Club.
Mildred reported that AAA will no longer fund Care -A -Van but will
support S.A.I.N.T.
Mildred said the hospital is still looking for organs, The governor
signed a bill that said anyone coming into the hospital must be asked
if they will donate an organ. Doctors are very unwilling to do this.
Ethics committees are struggling with this. Maybe more stress could
be put on having the drivers license.bureau encourage organ donations.
IV. Old Business
Joe went over. the Paint-A-Thon form.. The form was revised slightly.
Nancy will fill in the income, age, disability, and number in the
household. There will be a meeting at 1:30 PM at the Senior Center
on July 14 to educate the team.
Joe mentioned that we need to elect a new chairperson and secretary.
Joe agreed to consider taking the chair this year. It was moved,
seconded and unanimously voted on that he will continue as chair-
person. Arlene Simon has agreed to be the secretary.
V. Adjournment
Mildred moved the meeting be adjourned and Philip seconded the
motion. Meeting adjourned.
