Members Present: Ruby Lynch, Arlene Simon, Philip Simon, Yetta Rollin,
Nancy Luttropp, and Roxanne Smock.
Members Absent: Joe Campanella, Sam Rosenthal, Pat Long, Mildred Arnold,
and Dwight Saunders.
Iiestingwas called to order by Nancy Luttropp at 1:45 P. M.
Nancy wanted the Board to be aware of two programs that are to be
presented at the Senior Center and to tell interested people about them.
The first is "Cinema For Thought" a series of four films to be shown the
second Monday of each month beginning September 14th. These movies are
chosen to make the viewer think. They are cont r versial.in nature.
After the film, a facilitator will be available to Tad a discussion.'
These are VCR films from CSU.
^the second group of films is about '!omens Issues, to be shown for
the woman 50 years of age and older. These will begin Wednesday, October
14th at 5 to 7:30 P. M.
T-e 7bcecutive Committee of the Senior Advisory Roard met for lunc};
with iaror Estrada,Thursday, July 16th, and a number of Senior issues
were discussed.
Joe Campanella is to initiate, with the help of the Senior Advisory
Board, a group of projections guideliney�oncerning the new Senior Center.
F;ayor Estrada is very interested in extending the present quarter percent
sales tax for the Senior Center in addition to other projects that may be
needed at that time.
'_he October 1st Council Meeting is scheduled to hear this report.
Ruby Lynch is to call Joe Campanella and try to set up a meeting with
the "card on August 26th because the time frame is important to meet the
^ctober 1st date.
Roxanne Smock has accepted a full time position with R. S. V. P.
It was s,igF.ested that the Secretary send a card from the Advisory Board
to !Vildred Arnold who has been ill.
