The minutes were approved with corrections.
Old Business
Shirley stated the builder of Hickory Hill village decided to make
13 kitchens accessible per C.O.D. standards.
Mike Gebo stated 13 units did comply with the City's requirements,
but Shields Street Corporation still feels they were in compliance
before this issue was resolved.
New Business
Shirley informed the Commission a new fishing pier for the handicap
has been finished and will be dedicated September 26, 1992 at
10:00am.
A festival will be help September 19, 1992 at the library at
11:30am and a sculpture will be dedicated to the blind.
Mayors Awards: Debbie Kalin reported press announcements went out
Friday. Applications are available at City Hall West and in the
Building Inspection Office. Ann will mail a copy of the press
release and applications to approximately 100 agencies in Fort
Collins. The Awards will be presented at the October loth City
Council meeting at 6:30pm.
Transportation Committee: Jenny DeHurdt reported a meeting was held
at Poudre Valley Hospital seeking information from people using
Route 5. Long and short term solutions were discussed regarding the
construction of the hospital. Galen Rossiter, 221-6620 is the
contact person.
Facilities: Wendy Irving reported the Council approved the
transition plan at the August meeting. She hopes to have a budget
together by the end of September to submit to Finance.
Plan Review: James Reigles said he review several site plans as
well as building plans this month.
Transportation: Ray Sanderson reported this committee is back to
regular meetings. Next meeting will be September 23, 1992 at 3:30
at the Facilities Office. The general conclusion is if extra
service is wanted, extra funding is going to have to be found, or
the individual wanting the extra service will have to pay for it.
Shirley informed the commission Denise Scheberle had resigned from
the Commission and moved to Wisconsin.
Mike Gebo informed the members that the Boards and Commissions
workshop scheduled for September 17th has been re -scheduled for
September 30, 1992 at 6:30pm at City Hall West.
Parks and Recreation is looking for a representative from the
Commission to help with the planning stage of the new Senior
Center. Shirley Reichenbach and James Reigles both volunteered.
