The minutes from the October meeting were approved.
Jean Batchelder stated ADA will be meeting once a month, the third
Monday of each month, 6:30-8:30pm at 424 Pine in conference room
#2.
Wendy Irving -Mills stated in 1985, the 504 plan, the direction was
that the Commission on Disability wanted signs to be mounted at 4'
height. ADA requirements are 5' height. Wendy asked for direction
from the Commission on what requirements they wanted. Placement of
signs was also discussed. The Board agreed standard height would be
51, 2" braille lettering and generally the sign would be located
closest to the door opening.
Steve Annear was welcomed as a new member.
Debbie Kalin commented on the Mayor's Awards. She thanked everyone
for their work and thought more lead time was needed to prepare for
these awards next year.
The procedures for making motions and voting were reviewed.

Shirley mentioned under old business, the Car -a -van issues
mentioned at the last meeting is being taken care of internally.
Jim Reigles mentioned COD members should be part of a grievance
committee from different departments. It was decided this is a
volunteer issue and will be looked into in further detail in the
future.
Nov Business
The Board discussed giving members a chance to change to different
committees. Ray Sanderson mentioned he would like to resign from
the employment committee and find another member to sit on that
committee.
The 1993 Work Plan was discussed. A special meeting will be held
Monday, November 16, 1992 at 1:OOpm to work on the 1993 Work Plan.
Mayor Kirkpatrick was a guest at the Board. She stated in 1987 a
review of Boards and Commissions was done. She feels the Commission
is doing well, and this Board does not need to take on any new
projects at this time. She stated the Commission seems clear about
what they are doing. The mayor also stated she felt Fort Collins is
ahead of other City's as far as ADA compliances. The 1993 Budget
was discussed.
Community Awareness Days was discussed. Consensus was there is a
need for awareness seminars possibly sponsored by the Building
Industry, and through education ADA may be more understandable.
Parking reminders and the snow removal program were also discussed.
A special meeting will be held to discuss the work plan for 1993 at
1:OOpm on Monday, November 16, 1992 in the 281 Conference Room.
The meeting was adjourned. Next regular meeting will be December
14, 1992.
