ACTION ITEMS:
is1. Train Speeds: The Board discussed the boundaries impacted by the change in speed and the
potential traffic/pedestrian conflicts that could occur with a change in the train speed. If the City
is to negotiate with the Burlington Northern RR on the Mason Multi -Modal Corridor, maybe this
change in speed should be used as a negotiation tool. The Transportation Board voted 6-2 to
support the change in train speed from 15 mph to 20 mph in the Mason/Lincoln corridors.
The City should make BNRR aware of the needs for the multi -modal corridor.
Paul Perlmutter did not support this vote. He felt nothing was demonstrated showing the corridor
was safer with the increased speeds; there are many issues that need to be resolved with the
railroad concerning the corridor.
2. 2020 Regional Transportation Plan: (items that passed)
Transit: combine items 2, 8, 16, 23 and the new project will be placed in the #2 priority
position. New capital co:,ts would be $32,500,000.

Rail: no changes.
is
Mobility Projects: no changes.
