The minutes of the August 14th greeting w-xe approved with a change frarr Roy
Beauchamp concerning the Larimer County Cmxtl Ouse changes. He wanted to clar-
ify that work was not yet done, but the materials have been ordered and the idea
of the curtain will probably work, but it is not fixed at this time.
Greg said he had invited Patti Sanchez to talk at the breakfast. She is a teacher at
CLP Junior High and will talk about how she has implemented a section on disabili-
ties in her Home Fooranics Class. She will also bring a student to tell about her
class.
Debbie had sent copies of the guest list to each commission member asking that
changes be called to her right away. She only received one response and had been
directed to send the invitations on the 6th of septarber. Marry changes needed to
be made, but no one contacted Debbie. The invitations were already sent.
Nancy asked if slides could be provided by Patti. Greg said he and Debra felt the
talk was enough but he would check with her and see if she had something. Shir-
ley asked that last year's slides be shmm at the October 2nd meeting so the new
members can see what had been done. (The oatabs aMtiz g hoe be= gbWaged to

Nancy Jackson will get in contact with an interpreter for the breakfast and let us
know ubo it will be.
Shirley Reidpnbadn had gotten prices on catering. Suzanne's gave a price of
$1.75/persm. This price did not include napkin, paper plate, utensils or the $50
fee that the Lincoln Center passes on to caterers. Golden Pear's price was
$3.50/person and that inluded everything. It was decided that we would be safer
knowing all of the prices up front and go with Golden Pear and plan on about 70
people. Debbie will let Golden Pear know how many IWPs were received by the
25th.
Nancy asked if anyone had seen or heard press release. No one had. She will check
into it. (Nancy checked with Ooloradoan and they said they hadn't received
anything. Nancy will get them another copy.)
Debbie said she will need winners as soon as they are selected so that certificates
can be typed up.

K-Mart's striping of parking lot needs to be done and Nancy suggested mentioning
the heavy doors at the entry. She feels automatic doors would be much better.

building is different and would require anther letter. Roy has been cceposing a
letter to Fort Collins properties and almost has it done.

Nancy Jackson said that she had talked to Elaine Barrie with the Human Relations
C o mission. She is a physical therapist and for eight years was a 5th grade teacher
at Bum Elementary School. She has just ompleted Leadership Fort Collins training.
Nancy suggested inviting her to the Novenber meeting. Ms. Barrie showed interest
in getting people with handicaps into leadership roles. Nancy and Elaine thought it
world be a good idea for a OOD member and Human Relations Conu ssion member
to attend each others meetings with the goal to develop mutual relations and
increase awareness. Nancy felt it was important for COD to maintain their identity
but also to address discrimination against the handicapped. Elaine suggested a
similatiai presentation similar to Old Town last year for the people in ncaAorsh;p
Fbrt Collins class.
The meeting was adjourned.
