nominations and selection committee consists of Arne, Lori and
Heather each took home copies of the nominees and will meet this

their addresses. Arne's committee is still working on the press
release.
A piece of paper was sent around. People were supposed to copy
addresses of businesses that provide good access and businesses
that provide bad accessibility. Pictures will be taken of these
places for the program. Mini -Mart on N. College at Willox was
listed as bad. PVH, Larimer Community Services Center, the Library

NEW BUSINESS
Jeanne said she had been asked to be on the building committee for
the Senior Citizen Center. She said this is not a problem if it is
a night meeting, but if it is a day meeting she will have to
decline. She talked to Mark Fetter later and asked if he would be
interested. Mark will let us know.
Nancy asked that the Commission write a letter supporting option #1
of the HUD requirements. Debbie will write a letter if she
receives the draft information by the September 13th deadline.
Debbie informed the Board there may be an appeal to reduce the
number of handicap units in an apartment complex. She won't know
until the 20th of September and will let COD know right away. Arne
Andersen said he would be able to bring information that DRS has
compiled to that meeting.

Tickler File -
Marriott - Work has been finished but needs inspection.
281 Ramp - Mike said the texture is good for the blind. Shirley
said she likes the ramp and feels it will work well.
Larimer County Courthouse - Shirley didn't get the letter drafted
yet but is working on it. Several problems cited: No braille
signage or regular signage to direct to offices, handicap
facilities or elevators; Handicap parking space location,
identification and size.
Blevins - New principal on board. Doesn't know anything about
needing a ramp. Will call Jeanne back when he finds something out.
Phar-Mor - City talked with Phar-Mor and said they would be no
problems with an administrative change the parking and striping.
Post Office - New ramp on the northwest corner in the public right
of way. It is very steep and dangerous. Debbie called Dave
stringer in Engineering. He said no permit was issued and he will
check into it.
PVH - Mark will check to see that temporary ramp has not been
tampered with because of relocation of fence.
The Square - Asphalt has been repaired by the ramp.
Dr. Abbey's office - Basement doesn't need to be accessible. Lab in
the basement. _
2102 S. Lemay - Angela said her church has four handicap parking
spaces and they aren't wide enough. She talked to the Pastor and
he assured her they are being worked on. She also went around the
church with the Pastor's wife and told her about the accessibility
problems the church has. She asked that COD write a letter asking
for compliance. Debbie suggested that Angela write the letter and
bring it to her for typing. Nancy Jackson suggested we explain
what the COD is in the letter and ask if they would like a member
of COD to come by for a consultation or ask them to visit one of
our meeting. The Paster and his wife sound like they are very
willing to help. Everyone agreed.
3517 S. Mason - South Mesa Veterinary Hospital - Door swings over
landing and makes it impossible for a wheel chair to sit on landing
and open the door.
