I. Call Meeting to Order:
Chair Bud Herin called the meeting to order at 1:32 p.m. A quorum was present.
Eric Bracke, Traffic Engineer with the City gave the Board a tour of the Traffic
Operations facility.
II Discussion with Karen Schneiders, Planning Specialist with Transportation Services,
Transfort/Dial-A-Ride and Kevin Unger, Poudre Valley Hospital on status of special
need transportation to medical offices and medical center at Harmony Campus.
Karen put together an agreement with the hospital that allows seniors to utilize Dial -A -
Ride services for medical transport without pre -approval. The hospital will pick up the
transportation expenses for any medical needs until approval is granted from Dial -A -
Ride.
All dispatchers are aware that this program is in place. Mailings are sent to physicians so
they will also be aware of the program.
III. Public Participation:
Toni Lueck has been a passenger on Care -a -Van and Dial -a -Ride and also serves on the
Dial -a -Ride Advisory Committee. One of questions the public has asked is why was the
Harmony Campus put in a place where there is no public transportation available? It
would be helpful to have a bus going out there. One problem using Dial -a -Ride is if
you need to make another stop for a prescription, etc., it isn't allowed. However, if a bus
was available, patients would be able to do what they needed to do. Eventually a bus
route is needed to service the Harmony Campus corridor.
Toni reminded the Board that anyone 60 yrs and older are able to use Dial -A -Ride along
with ADA qualified citizens following approval of application.
Toni said that Susan Williams, who is on the Commission of Disability, is circulating a
petition to request that City Council continue night time service.
IV. Approval of Minutes
Marjorie McTaggart made a motion to accept the August minutes as corrected. Don
Wells seconded the motion. The motion carried.
V. Correspondence
Fort Collins Human Relations Commission - Wants SAB to support an ordinance that would protect
immigrants from questions pertaining to their legality. Don Wells made a motion to decline to suppo
the request because it is out of the scope of the Senior Advisory Board. Heather Haefer seconded the
motion. The motion was carried unanimously.
Barbara Schoenberger read a letter sent from Marty Heffernan concerning B.O.B. The Senior Center
will receive $4 million if bill is passed.
VI. Old Business
A. Update on status of crosswalk, bus stop issue at Sanctuary Apartments - Bud Herin -
The bus stop will not be moved closer to Seneca because the bus and traffic would be
interfering with each other at the light. The bus stop could be moved east to Kunz but
the City is not putting another traffic light there because it will be too close to Seneca.
Another resident asked for a top for the bus stop. Bud asked Kathleen and she
4k
responded that she would contact Out Look Promotions about the possibilities. She
will report back to Bud. Marjorie suggested that someone from the Board should
write a letter telling the residents at Sanctuary of the findings. Bud and Marjorie will
draft the letter for the Board.

out on the 20`h of July telling about the event. There was also a form sent for
