INSPIRATION PLAYGROUND
Brownie McGraw, Earl Ray, and Janie Kramer presented information and showed a video on the
proposed Inspiration Playground that is scheduled to be built in Fort Collins in the soon -to -be -
developed Spring Canyon Community Park. Since this is a new concept in playground design, many
people are unaware. The three presenters are making an effort to educate people and to raise money.
The playground will be designed and structured in such a way that all children, those with disabilities
and those without can actively play with their friends and siblings.
Started in California about 3 years ago, the idea has spread. There are now 49 such playgrounds in
California and 6 in the rest of the United States. The Fort Collins playground is scheduled to be
completed in 2007 and will be the "crown jewel' of our city.
Board members expressed an interest in sharing the information with others and possibly helping to
raise funds.
