A caravan of five automobiles carrying 22 interested parties in the study of water shed, storage, land owned, and a proposed reser- voir to be built on Rockwell Ranch made this trip, leaving Fort Collins at 8 o'clock a.m. and returning about 6:30 o'clock p.m. The following City of Fort Collins Water Board members made the trip: President Ward Fischer, Secretary John Bartel, members W. G. Wilkinsen and Fred Feit. Other Fort Collins members were City Manager Tom Coffey, Administrative Assistant John Baudek, Director of Public Works C. Adam Fischer, and Director of Utilities Stan Case, who acted as narrator. All cars were equipped with two-way radios, making commun- ication among the group very advantageous, thereby eliminating stops for • comments and discussion on the proposed projects. The Fort Collins Council members Mayor Harvey Johnson, Tom Bennett, Karl Carson, Harry Troxell and Al Kruchten were along, together with several members from the City of Greeley, Colorado, and The Water Supply and Storage Company. The three organizations are all very much interested in constructing a reservoir for additional water for present and future use. Several members from the press and radio were along. The trip covered approximately 140 miles. Points of interest, and the possibility of the Bureau of Reclamation building dams, etc., in Poudre Canyon were discussed. The trip went to Chambers Lake, Barnes Meadow, Rockwell Ranch where a survey was made of the present property and a hike was made into the mountains where the new dam is proposed. Time spent here was almost two hours. If this reservoir is built, an -- LI • additional 24,775 acre feet of water would be available. After stopping for lunch at Poudre City Resort, a very complete study was made of the Fort Collins Water Works. Then the group made a -trip to Seaman Reservoir, after which they went home. There being nothing further to discuss, the Board adjourned. SECRETA
