HomeMy WebLinkAboutWater Board - Minutes - 01/31/19674 THE WATER BOARD MEETING January 31, 1967 --000--- A meeting of the Water Board was held at the office January 31, of the City Manager, in Fort Collins, Colorado on Tuesday, January 31, 1966 at three thirty o'clock in the forenoon. PRESENT There were present: Ward Fischer .......... Chariman presiding. Fred Feit............. Frank Ghent........... Harvey Johnson........ Norman Evans.......... Owen Moore............ Tom Coffey............ Charles Liquin comprising a quorum of the board; also John L. Baudek........ Acting Secretary Mr. Manual Zoller's request to purchase 8.615 shares of New Mercer Water from the City of Fort Collins for $525.00 per share, or to trade for Horsetooth Water was presented. Motion: Mr. Fred Fiet moved to keep New Mercer until a new and acceptable proposal was received from Mr. Zoller. The motion was seconded by Ward Fischer The motion carried North Poudre Irrigation Company - $% 000 grant for dam construction from Bureau of Reclamation asking for vote of stock holders on approval of Dam Construction. Motion: Ward Fischer moved that this a problem peculiar to and affecting local agricultural users of the North Poudre Irrigation Company and the City, although a large stock holder should not influence the decision of those users whose needs are involved; and there- fore, the City should abstain from participating in the decision. The motion was seconded by Owen Moore. The motion carried. Poverty Flats Study - It was the unanimous concensus that the City should establish a priority for Poverty Flats so that the City would not be cut short if the Narrows Dam so is constructed. The Board suggested that Wright Engineering be asked for cost estimates for further study of the dam site with Greeley and water supply and storage sharing in the cost.
