• MINUTES OF THE MOUNTAIN TRIP taken August 31, 1967.
Three cars with 13 people irierested in the proposed dams
on the Poudre river for Water Storage ad power generating stations
to be built by the Federal Government left City Hall at 9:00 o'clock
A.M. and returned at about 3:00 o'clock P.M.
It was intended to go as high as the Grand River Ditch
area, but due to the heavy rains of the past several days, it was
thought best not to leave the hard top roads.
The following made the trip in the radio equipped cars:
Mayor Tom Bennett, City Manager Tom Coffey, Assistant Mayor Karl
Carson, Administrative Assistant John Baudek, Director of Utilities
Stan Case, Director of Public Works Charles Liquin, Councilmen John
Kissock, Alvin Kruchten, Harry Troxell, Water Board members Norman
• Evans, Dugan Wilkinson, John Bartel and a reporter from the
Coloradoan Newspaper.

Stan Case explained and pointed out the proposed areas for
the Grayrock Dam, Tunnel No. 2, and the Idlewild Dam. All visited the
filter plant, paying particular attention to the fluoridation instal-
lation. Herb Alexander explained the procedure.
Rockwell Ranch was also visited. Now that Mapelli Brothers
of Denver are renting the ranch, an improvement program is planned.
A number of old buildings are to be removed.
Lunch was had at Arrowhead Lodge.
Harvey Johnson and members of the Water Supply and Storage
Co. were to be there, but due to the weather delayed their trip.
