HomeMy WebLinkAboutWater Board - Minutes - 12/02/1968LJ ecember 2, 1968 • • MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE WATER BOARD Held Decembm r 2, 1968, at 3:00 P.M. at the City Manager's office. Present: President Ward Fischer, Board members Fred Feit, Dugan Wilkinson, Norman Evans and Owen Moore. Also present were City Manager Coffey, Assistant City Manager Tom Burgess, Director of Public Works Charles Liquin, Director of Finance Charlie Cain and Hydrologist Morton Bittinger andSecretary John Bartel. The meeting was opened by comments by Owen Moore in relation to the proposed forming of a Metropolitan Water District. He stated that he had been in contact with several of the district managers and they were concerned whether this was feasible due to a number of the Board members opposing of the possibility of legal technicality, also they had some concern for their outlying customers. He also stated that some districts were in accord and would cooperate with the City in forming a Metropolitan,.= District. President Fischer related his findings from the report submitted by Morton Bittinger and Associates dated October, 1968, relative to this proposed merger. After some comments, it was agreed that a joint meeting be called including only those members who participated in the compiling of the Bittinger report. The City Manager stated that the Board should report on E 4cember 2, 1968 a study of the district south of Fort Collins and suggested that • the Water Board recommend a reliable engineer for this study.
