HomeMy WebLinkAboutWater Board - Minutes - 10/28/1963n L. 1A MINUTES A regular meeting of the Fort Collins Water Board was held on Monday, October 28, 1963, at 7:30 p.m. All members of the Board were present except Mr. Evans and Mr. Bartel. The Water Board recommends that the City, until further notice, offer to purchase any and all available Colorado -Big Thompson water at a price not to exceed $60.00 per unit. Also present at the meeting were representatives of the proposed West Fort Collins Water District. The prior recommendations of the Board were reaffirmed except that it was felt that investigation should be made as to whether or not the County would adopt some type of building code to cover the area. It was further felt that county zoning would be applicable in the area. The Board unanimously reaffirmed its prior recommendation. as -to the requirement of annexation. A letter from Tallmodge and Tallmodge,, a copy of which is attached to the original of these Minutes, was read. Mr. Arthur March, Jr., City Attorney, gave his opinion that although the District could not require annexation as a legislative action of the District, yet if this was a condition of the contract by which it acquired water such condition could be imposed upon users under the District. The District was offered the opportunity to suggest other types of pipe that might be used in the District. A lack of information resulted in the Board's reaffirming the position of the City Engineer as to the extensive use of cast iron pipe. Any construction in the District shall satisfy the City Engineer's office. The District should agree that any subdivision be cleared by the City Planning and Zoning Board to the view that any arterial streets fit into the City's system. Neither the City Engineer nor the District having presented any basis for a discussion on cost of water, the Board felt it was not in a position to recommend any figure concerning the cost of sale of the water. After a short discussion with Mr. Wayne Hackett concerning future water problems, the meeting was adjourned. Respectfully submitted, L-1.
