Fischer, President Water Board of the City of Fort Collins P. 0. Box 434 Fort Collins, Colorado Subject: Priority Number 1 - Big Thompson River Your letter of October 20, 1965, was read and discussed by the Greeley Water Board at a special meeting Nobember 8, 1965. After considerable discussion it was decided that Greeley's interests in this water is premature. The City of Greeley only owns a few shares of the Greeley -Loveland Canal Water. We have contracts with a number of Harmers who agree to transfer to the City of Greeley their water should they subdi- vide. Greeley's interest in this water must be delayed until a decision is made as to whether or not Greeley will build a filter plant in the Loveland area. As expressed in your letter, Greeley is always interested in cooperating with the City of Fort Collins in water supply matters. • CTTY OF GREELEY /s/ B. H. Cruce City Manager From this reply the Board decided to turn down Mr. Rider's offer. City Attorney March, Jr., explained that Mr. Marvin Wolff, Attorney for the City of Boulder, contacted him and wondered if the City of Fort Collins would be interested in joining with Boulder to form an association in which to decide oh and maintain a price level on all water for sale by various individuals and ditch companies. A proposal by Mr. Alfred Thompson, Attorney for Mildred G. becksted, Gale E. Heiman and Paul E. Wienke, Trustees, to sell to the City of Fort Collins 45 acre feet • units of Big Thompson River water at the prevailing price of $100.00 per unit.
