HomeMy WebLinkAboutBuilding Review Board - Minutes - 07/29/1993# 0 BUILDING REVIEW BOARD July 29, 1993 281 North College Confr Room 9:15am Minutes Members Present: Harry Cornell Mike Sutton Tom Sibbald Charles Cotterman Susan Kroel-Froseth Mark Goldrich Members Absent: Doug Johnson Staff Liaison: Felix Lee Council Liaison: Ann Azari Staff Present: Felix Lee Ann Reichert The Board members met at 8:00am to say goodbye to Chris Allison, after eight years on the Board and to share information with Ann Azari, Council Liaison. The meeting was called to order at 9:15am by Chairman Harry Cornell. The minutes from the June meeting were approved. Mr. Turdy appeared before the Board requesting a special class B license and certificate to construct a steel bin at 546 Willow Street. Mr. Turdy explained to the Board no other construction or project is planned for Fort Collins at this time, and a one time license for this particular project would be sufficient. Board member Sutton moved to approve the Ken Bratney Co. for a class B license and Mr. Turdy for a certificate with no test, limited to this project. Board member Cotterman seconded the motion. The motion passed. Building Review Board July 31, 1993 Page 2 Doug Peterson appeared before the Board requesting a Class B license and certificate. Felix Lee stated Mr. Peterson is presently building his own home that is scheduled to be completed theend of August and therefore, lacking one reference. Mr. Peterson stated he has done construction since he was 13 years old and completed his first house in 1974. He stated he did commercial/tenant finish projects in Greeley and Fort Morgan. He also supervised the building of his father's home. He stated the reason he is before this Board is that the present house he is building is not yet complete and he would like to get his license so he can bid on two projects coming up in the near future. Mr. Peterson stated he has employed and supervised as many as 175 people and also has experience with management, payroll and meeting deadlines. He stated he was employed in investment banking and securities for twelve years and negotiated contracts with clients. Mr. Peterson said he is a licensed realtor. Board member Cotterman asked Mr. Peterson if he could produce other documentation for residential work. Mr. Peterson said he could not. Board member Sutton stated he would like to see Mr. Peterson come back to this Board after the completion of his current house. Board member Goldrich moved to postpone this decision until next month and Mr. Peterson can verify his house is finished and passed all inspections. Board member Sutton seconded the motion. The motion passed. The Building Review Board adjourned.
