Members present: Sutton, Cornell, Cotterman, Kruel- Froseth, Goldrich, Hansch, Meleski. Staff Liaison: Felix Lee Council Liaison: Ann Azari Staff Present: Ann Chantler Felix Lee The minutes from the May meeting were approved. James Cook, Cook Restoration and Remodeling, appeared before the Board requesting a Class D license and certificate. Mr. Cook stated his company is not involved in building new homes, but does fire damage repair, additions and remodeling. He is requesting a D license because some of the remodeling involves structural work. Mr. Cook stated Cook Restoration and Remodeling was established in 1976 when his father started the business. It grew over the years and included larger construction projects. Cook Restorations either uses Aspen Construction or Doug Johnson as the contractor of record when a licensed contractor is needed. Mr. Cook stated he feels he h_as the experience needed for a Class D license and certificate and would like to be able to apply for a permit as a contractor. He has no intention of building new homes and wants to stay in the business of remodeling and restoration. Board discussion followed. Several Board members recalled that in the past, a contractor was given a conditional Class D license lomited to remodels and additions. Board member Goldrich moved to grant a Hrovisional license to Mr.. Cook and that Felix would research what ;as done on the other license that was issued with conditions, to determine if such a license should be issued to Mr. Cook. Board member Meleski seconded the motion. Mr. Lee asked the Board to be more specific about the limitations on deciding to approve or deny the license. Discussion followed. Board member Goldrich withdrew his motion. Board member Froseth moved to table this appeal until next month until staff could research the conditional license referred to and ring tha* information to the next Board meeting. Board memt Goldr_ ,i seconded the motion. The cion passed. Other Business: Felix suggested the Board meetings be moved to the Council Chambers at City Hall. The recording equipment is better and it would.be a better atmosphere to hold the meetings. Board member Goldrich made a motion to move Board meetings to Council Chambers. Board member Cotterman seconded the motion. The motion passed. All meetings hereafter will be held in Council Chambers. The meeting was adjourned.
