The minutes of the February meeting were approved with one
correction.
Paul Edstrom, MacGregor/Wathen Construction appeared before the
Board submitting an application for a Class B License and
Certificate. Boardmember Cotterman stated that the references
received were Class C-01 work and asked if he in fact needed a B
license. Mr. Edstrom stated that a C-01 would be acceptable. Mr.
Edstrom asked to be exempt from testing as he holds many other
contractor's licenses in other cities and states. Boardmember
Johnson moved that Paul Edstrom be approved for a Class C-01 and
exempt from testing, Boardmember Guerrie seconded. Motion passed.
Randal Wick, R.C. Wick Construction Company appeared before the
Board submitting an application for a Class C-01. After a lengthy
discussion and numerous questions, Boardmember Allison suggested he
be approved for a Class D & E license and certificate because he
was short C-01 references. It was noted that Mr. Wick needed more
experience with Class C-01 supervisory and administrative
experience. Boardmember Johnson moved to approve Mr. Wick to test
for D & E license and certificate, Boardmember Sutton seconded.
Motion passed.
Gary Cole, Poco Building Company, submitted an application for a
Class D License and Certificate. Boardmember Cotterman motioned to
accept Mr. Cole's application for testing, Boardmember Cornell
seconded it. The motion passed.
Randall Melcher, applied for a Class C-01 certificate. Mr.
Melcher's references do not reflect C-01 work, but do support Class
D work. He was lacking one reference for a D certificate.
Boardmember Johnson moved that the appeal be denied, Boardmember
Cotterman seconded the motion. The motion passed.
NEW BUSINESS
Felix Lee mentioned that the City Council would hear the new
Accessible Housing Exceptions Ordinance April 16, 1991. The
ordinance was discussed and Boardmembers were invited to the
Council meeting for further input.
Felix mentioned a memo from the Mayor with regard to the 1992
budget process and asked for input. There was none.
The fireplace ordinance was discussed. There were concerns
regarding the wording of the ordinance. Felix will check with Brian
Woodruff in Natural Resources about the possibilities of amending
the wording of the ordinance.
Motion was made by Boardmember Cotterman to adjourn. Boardmember
Sutton seconded the motion. The motion passed.
Next meeting April 25, 1991 - 281 North College Conference Room.
