HomeMy WebLinkAboutBuilding Review Board - Minutes - 06/27/19910 0 BUILDING REVIEW BOARD MINUTES June 27, 1991 MEMBERS PRESENT: Chris Allison Charles Cotterman Doug Johnson Mike Sutton Harry Cornell STAFF ABSENT: Vincent Guerrie Dennis Sinnett GUESTS: Mark Goldrich - new member Paul Eckman, City Attorney STAFF PRESENT: Felix Lee Ann Reichert The minutes of the May meeting were approved. Brian Boos, Executive Homes, appeared before the Board submitting an application for a C-01 License. Boardmember Johnson excused himself because of his business association with Mr. Boos. Mr. Boos stated he had 6-8 years experience in residential building and has done some tenant finish jobs. Boardmember Allison stated he saw many references for building of new homes. Boardmember Sutton stated with the references received, Mr. Boos was capable of running a business. Boardmember Cotterman agreed. Mr. Boos stated he passed a Class A test in Aurora. Boardmember Cornell asked for Mr. Boos to explain his philosophy of running a business. He stated he is president of Executive Homes in Greeley. Boardmember Cotterman moved to approve Brian Boos be approved for a C-01 license and be exempt from testing. Boardmember Sutton seconded. Motion passed. Mike Baird, BRC Baird Remodeling and Cabinetry submitted an application for a Class D and E license. Boardmember Allison stated he saw no problem approving Mr. Baird for a Class E license. Boardmember Sutton moved to approve Mr. Baird for a Class E license. Boardmember Johnson seconded the motion. Motion passed. The Board held a discussion with Paul Eckman, City Attorney, regarding licensing procedures. The application form was also discussed. The Board decided that the applicant should be encouraged to attend the Building Review Board meeting. Building Review Board June 27, 1991 Page 2 Mr. Eckman stated the two issues the Board needs to look at are: approving the applicant to test for a specific exam, and requiring five letters of reference. He suggested whatever the Board requires, it should be included in the Code. Mr. Eckman suggested the application and what is in the code should match. Mr. Lee stated at this time the code does not require any letters of reference. The number of reference checks and the reference form was discussed. The process for testing and appearing before the Board was also discussed. The Board decided Felix Lee and Paul Eckman would work together to revise the code and present it at the next meeting for the Board to review. The meeting was adjourned.
