Acres 1st Subd. matter tabled u Discussion of Rezoning of area for Sor- optimist Club to build low cost rental units The meeting of the Planning and Zoning Board was called to order by the Chairman, Edward W. Withrow, at 7:30 P. M. Members present were: James C. Keese, Dr. Robert K. Lee, Roy A. Fortner, Mayor Robert W. Sears and Edward W. Withrow. Members absent were: John D. Hartman and Guy H. Palmes. The Chairman called for the matter of the Hearing on the University Acres First Subdivision, part of the SE4 of Section 230 Township 7 North, Range 69 West of the 6th P. M. The following persons were in attendance at the hearing: Miss Orine Piper Mr. C. V. Cook Blanche M. Wilson Georgia A. Kochenderfer Mrs. 0. M. Terrel W. and Mrs. Lloyd E. Eckert Mr. and Mrs. Dwight D. Clark Mr. and Mrs. Wm. A. Lovier Dr. David B. Lesher James H. Stewart K. Bill Tiley 430 Circle Drive 817 E. Prospect 811 East Prospect Ave. 805 E. Prospect 819 E. Prospect 612 Pitkin S. 440 Circle Drive 350 Circle Drive Supt. of Schools Professional Engineer Owner The matter was discussed at length with those present by the Board. After all persons were heard the Chairman declare the hearing closed. It was moved by Dr. Lee that the matter be tabled for further study of the area. The motion was seconded by Mr. Keese. Upon the affirmative vote of all members present the Chairman declared the motion passed. Mrs. Myrtle Hinds presented a proposal to the Planning and Zoning Board that an area west of Shields Street and north of Maple Street be rezoned to Allow the Soroptimist Club to build thirty residential court type units, to be rented to senior citizens at a low monthly rent. The matter was discussed at length. Mrs. Hinds was asked to get a formal petition drawn up and present it to the City Council if she desired to have the area rezoned. Major The matter of major thoroughfares in the area east of College Thoroughfares Avenue was discussed at length by the Board. No action was taken by the discussed Board. Meeting It was moved by Mr. Sears and seconded by Mr. Keese that the meeting adjourned be adjourned. Upon the affirmative vote of all members present the Chair- man declared the motion passed and the meeting adjourned.
