Withrow, at 7:00 P. M. Members present were: John D. Hartman, James, C. Keese, Guy H. Palmes, Roy A. Portner, Mayor Robert W. Sears, and Edward W. Withrow. Members absent were: John J. Nicol. Preliminary The matter of the Clara 0. Coffin Subdivision, tabled at the last Plat Coffin meeting, was discussed at length by the Board. Mr. F. J. Martinez, Subdivision, realtor, presented a revised preliminary p14t of the area being sub - approved sub- divided. The revised plat was discussed at length. It was moved by ject to Kr. The motion was seconded by Mr. Portner. Upon the affirmative vote of all members present the Chairman declared the motion passed. Dist. to "D" Com- mercial in 23-7-6% rezoning of So. College Hgts. Shopp- ing Center from "D" Com- mercial to "A" Res., and Subd, of So. #1. Hgts. pping Cen- r, discussed and approved Mr. Palmes presented a plan for redevelopment for the two blocks facing College Avenue between ITountain and Oak Street. The matter was discussed at length by the Board. No formal action was taken. Mr. Frank Homolka and Mr. Virgil Magerfleisch discussed the develop- ment of the area on West La Porte Avenue south and west of the Putnam School. The Board requested Mr Homolka and Mr. Magerfleisch to work out a solution to the roadway and submit it at their next meeting. No formal action was taken by the Board. The matters of the petition and application for annexation of that area to be known as the Laidlaw Annexation to the City of Fort Collins, Colorado, and the zoning of said area as "D" Commercial; the change in zoning of other lands located in the S',T' of Section 23, Township 7 North, Range 69 ?Jest of the 6th P. M., as petitioned, from "A" Residence to "D" Commercial; and the rezoning of the area known as the South College Heights Shopping Center from "D" Commercial to "A" Residential were discussed at great length. The subdividing of the area known as the South College Heights Shopping Center was also discussed at length by the Board. Plans for the proposed subdivision of the South Bollege Heights Shopping Center area and the proposed general site plan for the University Shopping Center were presented to the Board for their con- sideration. These matters were discussed by the Board at considerable length. It was moved by 15r. Hartman that it be recommended to the City Council: (1) the area to be known as the Laidlaw Annexation to the City of Fort Collins, Colorado, a portion of the SE4 of Section 23, Township 7 North, Range 69 West of the 6th P. H., County of Larimer, State of Colorado, be accepted and the said area be zoned as "D" Commercial District; PLANNING AND ZONING BO.iRD March 11, 1958 Page 2 (2) the following described area be rezoned from an "A" Residence District to a ''D" Commercial District: Beginning at the Southeast corner of Section 23, Township 7 North, Range 69 Uest of the 6th P.L., thence North 89026' ?.Test 200 feet, thence North 00014130" East 2,335.66 feet, thence South 8904513011 East 111 feet, thence North 00014130" East 170 feet, thence North 89045130" West 177 feet thence North 00014130" East 134.50 feet, thence South 89628' East 266 feet to the North east corner of the South east quarter of said Section 23, thence South 0001413011 West 2640 feet to the Southeast corner of said Section 23, (3) the area in Section 24, Tocroship 7 North, Rane 69 West of the 6th P.M., City of Fort Collins, Colorado, known as the South College Heights Shopping Center according to the plat filed for record on May 24, 1956, be rezoned from a "D" Commercial District to an "A" Residence District; and that, Mrs. Tiley be informed that the sketch for the subdividing of the area known as the South College Heights Shopping Center generally meets the approval of the Board; however, it will be necessary that she present a subdivised plat and utility plans of the area as provided by the sub— division regulations. The motion was seconded by 21r. Sears. Upon the affirmative vote of all members present the Chairman declared the motion passed. History and Mr. Beier submitted an Interim Report on the History and General General Character of the City of Fort Collins for the consideration of the Board. Character The matter was discussed briefly. Adjourned It was moved by 11r. Portner and seconded by 11r. Palmes that the to March 18 meeting be adjourned to March 18th. Upon the affirmative vote of all members present the Chairman declared the motion passed and the meeting adjourned to 11arch 18.
