HomeMy WebLinkAboutPlanning And Zoning Board - Minutes - 01/03/19674 40 MINUTES OF MEETING PLANNING AND ZONING BOARD Fort Collins, Colorado Call to Order: Chairman Robert Ocheltree called the meeting to order January 3, 1967, at 7:30 p.m. Members present: Chairman Bob Ocheltree, City Manager Tom Coffey, Mrs. Wood, Lynn Anduss, Charles Rhoades, City Attorney Art March, Jr., Mayor Johnson, and Planning Director Allen and 20 interested citizens. Item # 1 Planning Director Allen requested that agenda item # 1 (Reading and approval of the minutes for December 6, 1966) be postponed until the minutes can be typed. Item # 2 #50-66 Consider petition to change zoning of 2.43 acres of land from B-G to C. Planning Director Allen Explained location and background. Mr. Watson Stated that it would be in the interest of the City and C & S Railroad to have zoning which would help tax base. Railroad would be interested in small operation not industrial in nature --requiring railroad for shipping. Chuck Terrell Stated C.S.U. would like that section of the City to be as nice as possible, as it may be a possible entrance to campus in the future. M. Deines Stated they had a large scale plan for Meadow Lark. Owners would not want this type of thing close by. Tom Coffey Asked Terrell to explain the C.S.U. requirements. Chuck Terrell Extensive landscaping for site was reason for sale.Price was reduced to permit landscaping of City sub -station. Watson Old G. W. Sugar Company siding Lynn Anduss "Would Railroad design building and lease out?" Watson "No." Bob Ocheltree "No definite plans now?" . Watson "No." "One party (lumber yard) inquired and was told the use could not go in this location. Would use about 550 feet as public siding (to south of proposed lumber yard site)" • M w • 2 January 3, 1967 MBETIN PLANNING AND ZONING Planning Director Allen Made some comments Bob Ocheltree "How about circulation in E-W direction between College and Shields?" Mrs. Wood Made the motion to deny Tom Coffey Seconded The motion passed. All Ayes. # 3 #51-66 Consider changing zoning from R-P to M. Item Mr. Holsinger Showed plans for mobile homes. Bob Ocheltree stated the spaces are adjacent to lot line, which cannot be done according to the new ordinance. Tom Coffey "How far from the Baptist Church?" Mr. Holsinger "About one block." Dr. Adams Questions about "M" lowering property value, also the children from there could crawl through the fence to the horse pastures adjoining. Dwayne Johnson West area is good except for weedy area • along creek. States that area should be residential. Wants to annex sometime in the future. Mr. Holsinger Inquired about R-H.for same tract. Unidentified owner Stated he was tired of weeds and junked land would like to see some good development. cars on and Mrs. Wood Made the motion to recommend denial Lynn Anduss Seconded The motion carried. All Ayes. # 4 #52-66 Greenwalt Fourth Annexation petition. Item Tom Coffey Made the motion to recommend annexation as R-L. Mrs. Wood seconded The motion carried. All Ayes. Gary Haxton Shows plat of Lemay Medical Park for review by Board. No action necessary. Tom Coffey reads letter from Nicol about fences in front yards. Explains location of a few fences. Only three permits issued since new ordinance adopted. 40 Lynn Anduss Sidewalks incorporated into curb. This creats problem of pedestrian safety. They are made dangerous by planting too close, thus obstructing vision. The meeting adjourned at 8:40 p.m.
