Sub-Committee/Program Reports
PHA — The committee has decided to add another element to be a practical housing home. That element is that there be a bedroom, full
bathroom and kitchen on the main floor. They are looking for more participation on the committee to help move the practical housing
home proposal forward beyond the city (i.e. counties and surrounding area.)
Action: Jill will check with the county manager to see how to get the county involved in the project.
By -Laws — The committee will meet at 8:00 on Monday, April 14 at Jerry's house, 324 Linda Ln, to finalize recommendations.
Mayors Awards — The city has committed $3000 to the Mayor's Awards. There is still a concern about the cost of the meal and those
who might want to attend and can not afford it as well as the number of comp seats for the COD, VIPs and award nominees.
Action: Steve Sutter will go back to Roger and the BLN and see what can be accomplished with the $3000 and bring back a
proposal to the city manager through the COD.
Action: Jill and Jerry will get moving on the nomination and selection guidelines.
Art Show — The an show committee (Jill from the mall) had an idea that disability resource booths could be intermingled with the art
show booths. Posters for the Art Show will be completed soon COD members should distribute brochures at every opportunity they
have! Ruth has been in touch with Lanmer County Office of Community Development and they have agreed to help with volunteers,
publicity and advertising. Another publicity tool is agency bstservs.
