Annmane told about the Boards and Commissions Luncheon and how the City
Managers office is supportive of Boards and Commissions Annmane offered to help
organize a boards and commissions day to give community a way to understand the
boards and commissions

V Business Items
A Child Care Subcommittee Barb gave an update on Child Care Issues,
suggested that Wm s Commission meet with Laura Larson Rita and Lisa
will meet with Laura Annemarie suggested that Laura be invited to the May
meeting Work around Laura s schedule for the next meeting There is an
all day forum for HUD where Child Care will be discusses @CoachLight
Plaza from 10 00-12 00 Child Care will be discussed Thurs April, 20
B Report Discussion about having the report reprinted Lisa will make all the
corrections in the current report There is a $500 set-up fee for reformatting
the report Lisa will check on the set-up and publishing program She will
contact Connie Uhasz who originally set up the report
C Women s History Month Report Sara and Haemi gave report Haemi sent
out certificates to al participants and teachers too She got permission from
students to print their work Sara asked that Haemi write -out the process she
used to do the contest Haemi said she will work with Colorodoan to get
essays printed in the end of the school year issue Annmane suggested
contacting Annamane Vasquez Tulle Baxter was also suggested Sara
suggested that next year she could call teachers to leave voice mail about the
essays Annmarie commended Both Haemi and Sara about how the process
worked Sara suggested students know up -front the recognition and the prizes
for the contest There was a suggestion to contact also social studies teachers
and Cathy Kamer to get the word out Annmane suggested that they could
put the essays on a websrte Haemi will return the essays to the schools
D Crossroads update Diane gave the update There is an outreach center Off
site from the shelter It is administrative office Will be used for groups
individual counseling and legal help Address is 316 W Olive Another way
it will be utilized is for support counseling after women leave the shelter It
will make Crossroads more accessible to the community
E Marcel Woods Subcommittee Will be discussed next month The data base
is already in tact No committee people were present
F Other Annmane asked about new members Barb will check what the
protocol is for new member designation
