IV. Old Business
A. CSU Parking - Ed Ronwin — Dr. Ronwin has requested that the SAB write a
letter to City Council asking them to pass a resolution in support of seniors and
handicapped to be able to park free on the CSU campus. Several suggestions
were made during the discussion that followed including to request a reduction or
the parking fee. Dean Miller made a motion to present the President of CSU with
a letter suggesting lower parking fee. In order to write a letter like this it would
require permission from either SAB liaison (Ray Martinez) or City Council.
Concern was expressed that we need to hear more information from other sources.
Therefore, the Board will write an inquiry letter to CSU and the parking manager
for additional information. Don Wells, Marjorie McTaggart and Dean Miller were
chosen to write this letter.
B. Bylaws Revision Update - Bud Herin reported that he met with Ingrid Decker and
they agreed that what they were doing did not agree with the by-laws. In order to
change the By -Laws the City Code had to be amended. A letter was written last
summer to Mayor Martinez. Bud had a meeting with Mayor Martinez about City
Code changes and Senior Center expansion. A letter was sent to the Mayor with
changes who then met with City Attorney Steve Roy. Mayor Martinez wrote
back to the Board asking what reasons we had for these changes. Clarification of
the thought process used in suggesting the changes for the Code, and therefore,
the SAB bylaws were returned to the Mayor with a cover letter. Ray Martinez
will take changes to the City Council; if three members agree, the City Attorney
will be asked to prepare an ordinance change in the code.
C. Report on Building on Basics - Bud Herin - Bud met with Mayor Martinez on
Building on Basics. The Mayor confirmed that the expansion of the Senior
Center was still being considered. He also confirmed that the City Council had
seen our packet of petitions and letters. The Mayor and some other Council
members told Bud to keep the SAB group before the Council. The Council will
be meeting November 16th at 6 p.m. Two SAB members, Marjorie McTaggart
and Jim Downey, are planning to attend. Bud has already presented statistics
about the Senior Center to the Council. Dean Miller will be attending the meeting
on December 71h. Two members of Senior Council are also planning to attend
that meeting. All members are encouraged to contact their Council member
personally.

were very expensive at the Ranch and not very good. A sub -committee
comprised of Jeannette Namuth and Sandra Gibson will investigate places to hold
Bridging the Gap next year.
