2004 Mayor's Awards
<Budget Passed Out>
Packets with employment information was given out to employers in the
community.
Steve S.: Best way to keep cost down is to do quality events less often, not to
do a cheap event every year.
Loveland HAC will have a booth at the county fair. This might be an alternative on the off years if the
Commission decides to do an every other year event.
Mark: Can the Business Leadership Network and you (Steve) continue to pamrer with us to put on the
event?
Steve: It's probably time for someone else to step up for me (Steve)
What happens to the Fort Collins Business Leadership Network now that Roger is back in Canada?
Steve: Roger is interviewing applicants for his replacement.
So, we can expect the BLN partnership to continue?
Steve: Yes
Jeff. On off years we could mail out packets similar to the BLN's mailing from this last event.
Keep a mailing list current to be able to mail out reminders.
Joan: Can we roll our budget from one year to the next?
Mark: We can roll money to other activities to promote employment.
Action: Steve W. to ask accounting abort saving money across calendar years to feud a bi-
annual event.
Susan: Send out letters to keep Mayor's awards fresh in people's minds.
Jeff: Perhaps we could get actors to donate time for a fundraiser. Ideas to do
something different like this - different from Mayor's Awards.
Steve: There have been years when the awards have been skipped.
Mark: One of the purposes of the commission is to promote employment of the disabled. We've used
the Mayor's awards for that. We could create informational sessions in the off years.
Steve: We have spent a lot of time and energy getting people to come to our "thing". Perhaps it
would be effective to go to their `things", instead.
Steve W: Could we use the money to put together a video to raise awareness?
Marie: Are there videos out there to do that?
Steve: Yes. Although it might have more impact to see local employers' success with employment.
Susan: Would it be possible to use Channel 27?
Steve W: That's what I was thinking.
Steve: There are college students in media classes that need projects.
Steve R: We could have a job fair on the off years to promote employment.
Steve: There are already 3 big job fairs. Why do a disintegrated event when we are always claiming
that the disabled community is not disintegrated, and should be integrated with events like this.

Steve W: With a new mayor, we'll need to see what there interest in.
