HomeMy WebLinkAboutCultural Resources Board - Minutes - 08/18/2004Cultural, Library and Recreational Services Lincoln Center ART IN PUBLIC PLACES MINUTES Regular Meeting - Wednesday, August 18, 2004 Fort Collins Lincoln Center MEMBERS PRESENT: Roger Sherman, Lee Needham, Libby Dale, Alan Howe, Ray Tollison, Cori Hixon -Cunningham MEMBERS ABSENT: Ann Carr STAFF PRESENT: Ellen Martin, Chariry Kunter, Craig Foreman, Suzanne Jarboe Simpson, Jill Stilwell, and Kraig Bader I. Call to order 3:33p.m. - Mr. Sherman II. Consideration of the agenda No changes made. III. Approval of minutes from the meeting of July 21, 2004. Ms. Dale moved to approve the minutes. Mr. Howe seconded the motion. Approved unanimously. IV. Citizen Participation: None attended V. Utility Box Presentation: Suzanne Jarboe Simpson and Kraig Bader from the city's Utility Department distributed information on the city's utility boxes. The information showed how one specific site was prone to vandalism. The board discussed an an project with the possibility of community involvement using the utility boxes at this site. Ms. Hixon-Cunningham moved that we prepare an RFP for a lead design consultant that would work with the Utilities Department, within a budget of $10,000 - $15,000. Mr. Howe seconded. Unanimously passed. VI. Fossil Creek Trail Presentation & Proposal: Craig Foreman gave a presentation, proposing that the Art in Public Places Program work with the Park Planning & Development Department and place art at the site that they are currently developing. Ms. Dale moved that we get an artist from the Design Consultant list to work on the underpass at 287, at Fossil Creek Trail. Ms. Hixon-Cunningham seconded. Unanimously Passed VII. Staff Reports Staff distributed a written report of staff activities since the last board meeting. VIII. Other Business: A reminder that we will be reviewing Spring Canyon Proposals in September. IX.
