Call Meeting to Order:
Meeting called to order by chairperson Brendon Votipka at 7:10 p.m.
Approval of Minutes from December 1, 2004
The minutes of the regular meeting on December 1 were unanimously (6-0) approved following
a motion by Kristi Thomas and seconded by David Saperstone.
Agenda Review:
No changes to the printed agenda.
Citizen Participation:
No citizen participation.

SUB -COMMITTEE REPORTS
The publicity sub -committee met in December, and as a result of that meeting, Brendon
composed a letter to submit to the Coloradoan regarding the Youth Advisory Board and their
purpose. He also encouraged other Board members to distribute the Youth Activity Center's
descriptive flyer to their respective schools for use in school announcements and school
newspapers. Board members are welcome to pick up anything from the YAC front desk to
distribute and inform others.
Brendon and Kristi will participate in a KRFC radio show called "Minor Talk" on Saturday,
January 8 at 5:30 p.m. David Saperstone may join them as well.
Brendon also encouraged Board members to wear their YAB hoodies at least 3 times before the
next meeting as an advertisement for the Youth Advisory Board.

A sub -committee consisting of Jonathan, Ryan and Brendon was formed to begin planning for
the fund-raising event for the Inspiration Playground.
YOUTH ACTIVITY CENTER UPDATE/FUND-RAISING
Club 56 is scheduled for Saturday, January 8; volunteers are needed. An adult dodgeball
tournament is scheduled for January 15 as a fund-raiser for the YAC.
Jim Fay, of the Love and Logic Institute, will be speaking on February 1 at the Timberline
Church as a fund-raiser for the YAC. Tickets are $10 each.
The YAC calendar for January which includes after -school activities was distributed. YAC staff
encouraged YAB members to help with any activities that were of interest to them. The ski trips
have been successful to date, and the gym use has increased. A basketball league for teens in
grades 9-12 is being offered.
The entire interior of the YAC is sporting a fresh new coat of paint, thanks to staff.
NORTHSIDE AZTLAN COMMUNITY CENTER UPDATE
Tutoring begins January 10; YAB members interested in volunteering should call Frank. The
wrestling program is well underway. A recent 3-on-3 basketball tournament brought in 125 kids
Six hundred kids were served at the NACC-hosted Christmas parties; 125 seniors participated in
a party for their age group.
OTHER BUSINESS
• Brendon will participate with Ray Martinez in Talk of the Town on February 1 from
9:00-11:00 a.m.
• All Youth Advisory Board members are invited to attend a performance of
"Copenhagen" at the Lincoln Center on Friday, January 7 compliments of Bob & Joyce
Everitt.
ADJOURNMENT
Following a motion by Kristi Thomas and seconded by Jonathan Fanning, the Board voted
unanimously (6-0) to adjourn at 7:55 p.m.
