Minutes --August 20, 2001
Members, please note Starting in September, meetings are changed from the third
Monday to third Thursday of each month Next meeting September 20th @

It Minutes approved Haemi moved, Jean Seconded Approved
III Review Agenda Added the tape of the Study Session
IV Announcements Sharon Brmgleson is no longer with the Commission due to missed
meetings
V Business Items
• Meeting started with the viewing of the video of the study session for the Periodic
Review on July 27`'
• Attendance
• Haemi and Sara will check attendance records to let Karla know how many
openings
■ Discussion followed about whether or not to go to nine as the membership
number Barbara will check to see if the membership can go to nine as
opposed to eleven
• Alternative meeting night
■ Haemi moved to move the meeting time from third Monday to third Thursday
Jean seconded Discussion Thursday works for the quorum, and six PM
seems okay Passed unanimously Next meetings will be
Sept 20, Oct 18, Nov 15', Dec 20`h

■ The presentation will be August 27 h at City Council Chambers, from 6 00-
7 00 PM Commission Members should plan to be at the CIC Room at 5 45
Light refreshments will be served
■ Barbara suggested moving the Marcile Wood Award to March for Women s
Awards Night Jean asked about the impact of moving the MWAward on the
essay Sara will check with teachers about the essay timing Decision will be
made at next meeting
Formation of Presentation Committee
■ Amunane will work with the AAUW about doing the presentation of the
report just to their group Deb suggested that the presentation committee be
started now She volunteered to be the head of the committee Sara,
Amunane, and Haemi will help
Report Reprinting
■ Amunane will check with AnnMane of the AAUW to see if they will be a
source for helping to update the report Annmane will highlight her report to
determine what needs to be updated Amunane will ask AAUW to commit by
Sept 10 to helping with the report If AAUW will not help, Amunane will
hand out assignments for report updating at Sept meeting
■ Haemi will take the disk and hard copy to Kinkos to begin the updating
process for the hard copy of the report
