➢ Haemi moved to approve the minuets, Deb Seconded, passed

➢ Addendum Update meeting responsibilities from council, Boards and Commissions
openings
IV Announcements
➢ The Marcile Wood Awards were put in "Thumbs up " Linda Mahan's name was
misspelled Haemi will write a letter to the editor
➢ Deb brought information about women with the suggestion that each meeting have a
part that informs the members or shares something about women and/or the state of
women in society Books Justice and the Politics of Difference Who s Science

A Wins' History Essay Contest Update—
➢ Sara reported that she had spoken to teachers about the possibility of moving the
contest The consensus of the teachers she spoke with was, "Please leave the
contest where it is '
B Marcile Wood— It was decided
➢ That the Commission would re -present the 2001 award to winner and honorees in
March 2002 at the Women's Award Night
➢ That the next applications for award would be sent out in Jan of 2003 to give
applicants six weeks before the Women's Award Night in March
➢ That someone would look into a way to better publicize the event Jean suggested
using the publicity office for the City and contacting Kelly Di Martino for help in
the future
C Meeting Responsibilities update—
➢ Barbara read the highlights from the City Clerks office about the changes to
members responsibilities, esp concermng executive session
D AAUW Presentation—
➢ Annmane gave a report She has tried to reach AnnMane Merlme of AAUW
Annniane has not heard back AAUW was invited to come to October meeting,
but connections were not made If Annmane is contacted, AAUW will be asked
to come in Nov
E Report Reprinting—
➢ Annrnane reported that she has tried to speak with Audry Faulkner to find out
where original statistics came from She was unable to reach Audry
➢ Haemi's report from KINKOS—A duplicate disk was made Someone was hued
to make typographical corrections to the original document The person missed
many changes which Haemi will discuss with Kmkos As well, the text has four
fonts so that will need to be fixed She discussed costs It was decided that after
the disk is thoroughly cleaned up, ten copies of the report will be printed
➢ Updating the material for the report was discussed Significant questions arose
about how to update material that was based on a survey Annmane had combed
the report for statistics Deb Thompson had information about possible places to
get pertinent information She sited the websrte, www co larimer co us/compass,
the Colorado Vital Staticis Book, and the Health Survey done by the Poudre
Valley Health District Each member was given a chapter to investigate about the
possibility of updating the material The assignments were as follows

➢ Deb Thompson —Mental Health
➢ Haemi—Employment/Welfare Reform
➢ Annmane—Transportation
F Presentation Committee
➢ This committee came up with a number of questions concerning presentations that the
Commission might do They included the following
➢ Who do we want to go after to give presentation tog
➢ If we're going to go to a group, what specifically might we want to ask
them to dog Have an idea ahead of time How can we best give you
the information Want to collect transparencies from everyone to have
all overheads in one place (Haemi had the complete set in the cabinet)
➢ Deb had written up a letter that could be sent out to people for presentations and an
"order form" that would go out with letter She also had a standardized follow-up
form for when a call comes in Deb suggested a practice run where members are their
own "devils advocate" to ask hard questions and find out own weaknesses
G Membership Openings—
➢ There will be three openings as of end of year Members took applications to
distribute Applications were due Sept 29th
