A regular meeting of the Personnel Board was held on Tuesday, January 20, 1998 in the Human
Resources Conference Room.
Present: Jim Alderden, Ginny Riley
Human Resources Staff Members Present: Jaime Mazes, Joan Busch
Other Staff Members Present: Ron Uthmann, Poudre Fire Authority
I. Personnel Policies and Procedures
City Manager, John Fischbach, has reviewed the proposed policies and had eight items
that needed to be revised. Those changes have been made and Jaime will be working
with Diane Jones, Interim Administrative Services Director to present the changes back
to the City Manager.
II. Terminated Employee
Jaime advised the Board that an employee, who was a division manager, was recently
terminated. An appeal is not expected.
III. Appeal
The anticipated appeal that was scheduled for December 1- 2, 1997 was canceled as the
employee withdrew the appeal.
IV. Personnel Board - Subpoena
Jaime asked members if the Board would be interested in having the ability to subpoena
individuals for Personnel Board appeals. The city code would need to be changed to provide for
this change. Jaime will provide draft language at the March meeting to address this change.
V. Compensation and Classification Study
H.R. staff is continuing to work on this project. Changes to the Information Systems
occupational group have been implemented.
VI. Minutes.
As there was not a quorum present, the approval of the November 18, 1997 minutes was tabled
until the next meeting.
VII. Adjourn
There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 12:50 p.m.
The next regularly scheduled meeting date is Tuesday, March 17, 1998.
