Cultural Resources Board
REGULAR MEETING
Thursday, June 26, 2025 – 5:30 PM

CALL TO ORDER: 5:36 PM

AGENDA REVIEW
• The Visit Fort Collins update will be removed from New Business. Katy
Schneider was unable to join the meeting.
CITIZEN PARTICIPATION
APPROVAL OF MINUTES
• Approval of May 2025 minutes. Jessica MacMillan made a motion to accept
the minutes. Eleanor VanDeusen seconded the motion. The motion passed
unanimously. Approved by roll call, Ayes: Sheri Emerick, Cori Hixon , Jessica
MacMillan, Eleanor VanDeusen, Leslie Walker.

NEW BUSINESS
• 2025 Special Event Grant: June Deadline – Discussion and Funding
Recommendations
Solara Clark presented the funding results to the Board.
The Board held a brief discussion about the grant applications.
Leslie Walker made a motion to accept the funding recommendations.
Jessica MacMillan seconded the motion. The motion passed
unanimously. Approved by roll call, Ayes: Sheri Emerick, Cori Hixon,
Jessica MacMillan, Eleanor VanDeusen, Leslie Walker.
DIRECTOR’S REPORT
• Eileen May updated the Board on department operations:
Solara Clark has been pro moted and will now be managing the Fort
Fund grant program, rather than just providing administrative support.
Cultural Community Programs, Art in Public Places, Center for
Creativity and the Fort Fund Grant Program are all going to be a part
of the new Community Arts work group, led by Cheryl Donaldson -
Moses.
FoCo POP, a new initiative bringing arts and culture to local parks,
has its first event tonight (June 26, 2025) in Library Park. The
program is replacing the Lincoln Center Children’s Series for a year.
Upcoming events include the Concert Turck in mid -July.
The new Arts and Culture Board was approved by City Council at the
June 17 meeting. More details about what that means for the current
Board will be coming in July.
The City is undergoing a 5% reduction in budget, which the
department will manage throug h expense reductions like office
supplies and conference travel and without job losses.
The Lincoln Center General Manager position is being re -evaluated
and will be split into two jobs due to uncompetitive salary and to better
address department needs.
The Gardens on Spring Creek Summer Concert Series kicks off on
Saturday, June 28.
The department and City are pursuing a change in the Noise
Ordinan ce. More information about how the Board can be involved
will come later.
Arts and Culture Publication is in the works and information has been
complied. The publication aims to detail the impact of Arts and Culture
in the community.
Art in Public Places is celebrating their 30 th anniversary this year. A
celebration will take place in October. The Board will receive an
invitation.
BOARD MEMBER REPORTS
•Eleanor VanDeusen attended a performance by OpenStage .
•Cori Hixon attended the Art Song Colorado summit.
•Jessica MacMillan attended a performance by LuneAseas and a performance
from Off the Hook Arts.
•Leslie Walker attended a performance from Off the Hook Arts , a performance
by Bas Bleu Theatre Company , and a performance by the Canyon Concert
Ballet.
•Sheri Emerick went to the Poudre Heritage Alliance photography exhibit and
attended the KRFC Birthday Bash.

ADJOURNMENT:
•Jessica MacMillan made a motion to adjourn at 6:38 PM. Leslie Walker
seconded the motion. The motion passed unanimously. Approved by roll call,
Ayes: Sheri Emerick, Cori Hixon, Jessica MacMillan, Eleanor VanDeusen,
Leslie Walker.
