Cultural Resources Board
REGULAR MEETING
Thursday, May 22, 2025 – 5:30 PM
Center for Creativity, White Pine Room
CALL TO ORDER: 5:34 PM

AGENDA REVIEW
• Agenda i tem B “Visit Fort Collins Update” on New Business was removed. Katy
Schneider was unable to attend the meeting.
PUBLIC PARTICIPATION
• Nancy Zola from the Art in Public Places Board attended the meeting to
observe.
• Vicki Fogel Mykles, a previous Cultural Resources Board member, attended the
meeting to say a final farewell to the Board.
APPROVAL OF MINUTES
• Leslie Walker inquired about the state grant for Art Along Public Trails
mentioned in the April minutes. The Board informed her of Katy Schneider’s
update from the April meeting about the $20,000 grant to Visit Fort Collins.
• Approval of April 2025 minutes. Cori Hixon made a motion to accept the
minutes. Eleanor VanDeusen seconded the motion. The motion passed
unanimously.
UNFINISHED BUSINESS
NEW BUSINESS
• Recognition – Vicki Fogel Mykles
Vicki Fogel Mykles was recognized by the Board for her 8.5 years of
service. Sheri Emerick, Chair, presented Vicki with an award of
recognition.
• Fort Fund Program Changes – Presentation and Discussion
Solara Clark presented potential upcoming changes to the Fort Fund
program, including shifting grant scoring to a community panel
starting in 2026 and introducing an individual artist grant.
The Board voted anonymously to name the potential new individual
artist grant. Between “FoCo Artist Grant” and “Artist Opportunity
Grant”, “Artist Opportunity Grant” was the winner.
The Board asked questions regarding the changes and provided
feedback on the subject. Subjects included Community Panel
Selection, Payment, Board Liaison Assignments, Artist Opportunity
Grant, etc.
Staff will review the feedback of the Board and make decisions
regarding the changes to the program accordingly and update the
Board in the near future.
•June Special Event Scoring – Update
Solara Clark updated the Board on the Special Event Grant, June
Deadline scoring process. The grant closes June 4 and will be sent to
the Board for review no later than June 6.
There was brief discussion on the application from Foothills Unitarian
Church for a special event theatrical production. The City Attorney's
Office has approved it for scoring, despite the religious affiliation.
DIRECTOR’S REPORT
•Cheryl Donaldson-Moses updated the Board on the Gardens on Spring Creek’s
2025 Plant Sale. The Plant Sale was the most successful yet with a 23%
increase in attendance.
•Cheryl Donaldson -Moses informed the Board that the Nature All Around Us
exhibit at the Fort Collins Museum of Discovery opens Saturday, May 24, 2025
and will run all summer.
BOARD MEMBER REPORTS
•Jessica MacMillan attended the Northern Colorado Intertribal Powwow
Association’s Powwow and Gregory Allicar Museum’s “Community Smog”
exhibit.
•Conner Horak-Flood was given a tour of the Gregory Allicar Museum by Board
member Sheri Emerick.
•Leslie Walker attended an exhibit at the Fort Collins Museum of Art.
OTHER BUSINESS
ADJOURNMENT:
•Jessica MacMillan made a motion to adjourn at 7:01 PM. Conner Horak-Flood
seconded the motion. The motion passed unanimously.
