I am the owner of PFM 1000 Investments, LLC. PFM is the owner of 412 S. Howes St. We sit directly to the west of 415 S Mason. We purchased our building back in 2013. Unfortunately, due to another appointment, I cannot attend tomorrow’s hearing concerning the art that Debra Ryan has installed. I do not understand why the city needs to be harassing a small business owner for putting artwork on her business. It is understood that the artwork happened to have the restaurant’s name on it. I find many of the city’s rules lame in multiple ways. This one particularly. Why are you wasting our tax dollars on this hearing? You are talking about 90 square feet? I am curious if it had a rainbow flag or a Viva las whatever on it, if the city would leave it alone? Is it because you want the permit, AKA a tax on it to fund the bureaucracy in which you are employed by? I have done a lot of work for Art in Public Places over the years. My wife was on the Downtown Development Authority board for 8 years, including a 2-year stint as the board chair. This city has installed much uglier and more divisive “art” around town. I implore you to leave this small business owner alone. Marc Parker Certified Small Business Enterprise970 472-4079 Office | 970 472-1640 FAX 2
