HomeMy WebLinkAboutCULTURAL RESOURCES BOARD - MINUTES - 11/14/2024 11/14/25 - MINUTES Cultural Resources Board REGULAR MEETING Thursday, November 14, 2024 – 5:30 PM Fort Collins Museum of Discovery CALL TO ORDER: 5:38 PM ROLL CALL • Board Members Present - Sheri Emerick, Conner Horak -Flood, Jessica MacMillan, Vicki Fogel Mykles (Vice -Chair), Audra Vaisbort, Leslie Walker (Chair) • Board Members Remote - • Board Members Absent – Kelly Mosher • Staff Members Present - Solara Clark, Cheryl Donaldson Moses • Guest(s) - Jenna Riedi AGENDA REVIEW CITIZEN PARTICIPATION APPROVAL OF MINUTES • Approval of October 2024 minutes. Vicki Fogel Mykles made a motion to approve the minutes. Jessica MacMillan seconded the motion. The motion passed unanimously. Approved by roll call, Ayes: Sheri Emerick, Conner Horak -Flood, Jessica MacMillan, Vicki Fogel Mykles, Audra Vaisbort, Leslie Walker. UNFINISHED BUSINESS NEW BUSINESS • Cheryl Donaldson Moses – Introduction and Exhibit Overview • Cheryl Donaldson Moses introduced herself to the Board and informed the Board of the Skin and Bias Inside Us exhibits at the Fort Collins Museum of Discovery. • Grantee Presentation – Larimer Choral Society, Jenna Riedi, Interim Executive Director • Jenna Riedi presented to the Board about the history and upcoming season for the Larimer Chorale Society. • Strategic Session – Brainstorming Topics Discussion • Leslie Walker led discussion about potential topics for the upcoming CuRB strategic session. The Board discussed three key topics to help guide discussion on Board needs/attention areas. Those topics were: • What are the cultural arts? 11/14/25 - MINUTES • Rules, regulations, policies, administrative, and budgetary matters pertaining to the Cultural Services department. • What opportunities do we have to promote awareness, understanding, and appreciation for cultural resources in Fort Collins? • The Board discussed the topics and agreed to continue the discussion at the CuRB strategy session in the New Year. DIRECTOR’S REPORT • Cheryl Donaldson Moses informed the Board of Department Updates. BOARD MEMBER REPORTS • Board members shared the events they attended as Fort Fund liaisons. OTHER BUSINESS • Solara Clark clarified who on the Board wanted complimentary tickets to the “A Classic Christmas with Frisson” show at The Lincoln Center. ADJOURNMENT • Sheri Emerick made a motion to adjourn at 7:05 PM. Conner Horak -Flood seconded the motion. The motion passed unanimously. Approved by roll call, Ayes: Sheri Emerick, Conner Horak-Flood, Jessica MacMillan, Vicki Fogel Mykles, Audra Vaisbort, Leslie Walker.
