College Ave – Conference Room A 12/18/2024 – MINUTES Page 1 1.CALL TO ORDER Chair Gallichotte called the meeting to order at 5:04 PM. 2.ROLL CALL •Board Members Present – Jebrail Dempsey, Emily Gallichotte, Gina Maez, Kendall Stephenson, Julie Trone •Board Members Absent – Emily (Fitz) Fitzmeyer •City of Fort Collins Staff– Kayla (Redd) 3.AGENDA REVIEW •No changes. 4.PUBLIC PARTICIPATION •No present public attendees during this time. 5.APPROVAL OF MINUTES •Jebrail Dempsey made a motion to approve the minutes of the November 20th, 2024 meeting. •Emily Gallichotte seconded the motion. •Motion passed AYE –Dempsey, Gallichotte, Maez, Stephenson, Trone NAY – None 6.NEW BUSINESS •Women’s Proclamation Draft o Redd went over the proclamation process and presented a partner ship opportunity with Women FoCus. o The Board reviewed and edited the draft proclamation that Jebrail and Julie produced. •Super Issues o Emily shared dates for Super Issues meetings and the Board discussed future involvement. •Review City Council’s Calendar o City Council’s Planning Calendar was reviewed and discussed for the Women and Gender Equity Advisory Board REGULAR MEETING 1 2 /18/20 24 – MINUTES Page 2 Board’s opportunities of attendance and participation. • 2025 Work Plan Updates o The Board went through the 2025 Work Plan Updates and discussed responsibilities and goals. 7. City of Fort Collins International Women’s Day Proclamation [Draft] WHEREAS, the Women and Gender Equity Advisory Board was established to enhance the status and opportunities for all women, girls, transgender, gender non-binary, and gender non-conforming persons in the City of Fort Collins; and WHEREAS, the Women and Gender Equity Advisory Board acknowledges the continued need for socioeconomic empowerment of women and girls both locally and globally; and WHEREAS, the vast contributions of women and girls to our society cannot be ignored or overstated; and WHEREAS, the Women and Gender Equity Advisory Board celebrates the achievements and triumphs of women and girls, both locally and globally; and WHEREAS, International Women’s Day was established in 1911 to celebrate women’s achievements, raise awareness about gender-based discrimination, and take action to achieve women’s rights; and WHEREAS, acknowledging International Women’s Day is a step towards validating that women and girls are to be noted for their social, economic, cultural, and political achievements; and WHEREAS, call for gender equity, social justice, dignity, and respect towards all women and girls regardless of age, sex, race, ability, religion, immigration status, criminal record, and socio-economic status; and WHEREAS, the City of Fort Collins has been devoted to increasing equity measures across all identities since the inception of the Office of Equity & Inclusion in August 2021. NOW, THEREFORE, I, Jeni Arndt, Mayor of the City of Fort Collins, do hereby proclaim the 8th of March 2025 as INTERNATIONAL WOMEN’S DAY and call upon all community members to join us in jubilation of the contributions, tireless efforts, and joy that women and girls bring to our community. IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and the seal of the City of Fort Collins this 4th day of March 2025.
