REGULAR MEETING
Thursday, October 24, 2024 – 5:30 PM, White Pine, Center for Creativity
passed unanimously.
•Scoring Process Discussion
o The Board discussed the current scoring process and changes that could be
made to improve the current system.
o There was an emphasis on gaining a greater understanding of each category
and what the Board should prioritize in their scoring to create more unity in the
process. There was also a request to allow for more scoring time for the Program
Support grant, as it is the largest grant category and takes more time to score.
Staff will look at the calendar and adjust deadlines to accommodate this request.
o There was positive feedback about having an additional deadline for comments
to be due prior to final scores. Staff will look at incorporating this type of scoring
deadline for all grant categories next grant cycle.
o Staff recommended there be an additional deadline for applicants to be able to
submit early for their applications to be reviewed by staff for eligibility concerns.
The applicant would then have until the final deadline to make changes.
Jessica MacMillan made a motion to support staff in this change to the
grant deadlines. Audra Vaisbort seconded the motion. The motion passed
unanimously.
•Capacity Building Workshops – Debrief
o The Board discussed the October 21, 2024 Grant Writing workshop. There were
roughly 35 participants and four Board members were able to attend.

name tags and for participants to introduce themselves at the beginning of the
session. Staff will look at incorporating this into future workshops.
