1. CALL TO ORDER

a. Board Members Present –
i. David Kovach, Myles Crane, Alicia Durand, Joe Glomboski, Karen Miller, Debbie
Bradberry, Deanna O’Connell, Suzanne King, and Sarah Schilz.

a. Each guest shared their name and association.
5. APPROVAL OF MINUTES
a. David Kovach motioned to approve the June minutes. Joe Glomboski seconded. None
opposed.

b. Six Month Calendar Update included council meetings related to the budgeting process.
7. GUEST SPEAKERS AND BOARD DISCUSSION
a. Kristine Burrows, MPH, Senior Specialist on Aging, Colorado Department of Human
Services
i. Kristine Burrows works with the Colorado Commission on Aging as a Senior
Specialist on Aging under the Colorado Department of Human Services. Kristine
holds a Masters from the Colorado School of Public Health and serves on the
Denver Commission of Aging Board of Health. In this meeting, she shared the
current status of the Multisector Plan on Aging at the state level. The Colorado
Department of Human Services is responsible for the plan since there is no
department of aging for the state of Colorado.
They are seeing a trend in multisector plans across the country and are working with
other states like California, Oklahoma, and Minnesota. The plan will have 5 large
goals; Create communities that embrace and support all Coloradans, build a
Colorado that supports the healthcare needs of all Older Coloradans, create a
person-centered service delivery model, understand the economic impact of
Colorado’s aging population, and prioritize the economic security of all older
Coloradans. Within these goals, they will be focusing on the key themes of housing,
transportation, benefits access and coverage, healthcare access, provider capacity,
funding, ageism, economic security, a diminished volunteer base, and scattered
resources.

b. Discussion and brainstorming session regarding potential intermunicipal public education
project between Fort Collins Senior Advisory Board and Loveland’s Senior Advisory Board.
This meeting was the third intermunicipal board meeting between the
Loveland and Fort Collins Senior Advisory Boards with an additional presence from
Partners for Age Friendly Communities (PAFC), Saint Transportation Board, and
Centennial Area Health & Education Center (CAHEC). The group discussed the

various trends Kristine Burrows mentioned relating to housing, transportation, benefits access and coverage,
healthcare access, provider capacity, funding, ageism, economic security, a diminished volunteer base, and
scattered resources and how they, as organizations and boards, could provide education or resources
around one of those trends.
Myles Crane motioned to pick a topic in partnership with the Loveland Senior
Advisory Board and create educational resources around it. David Kovach
seconded. All approved, none were opposed.
8. NEW BUSINESS
a. Recent City Council Activity
i. Police services are planning to reduce speeding across the city. Five new cameras
have been placed at some of the intersections with the highest number of accidents.
More mobile units are being used to automatically issue tickets for speeding. This
aligns with the City of Fort Collins Vision Zero Plan.
b. Review ideas on collecting and sharing information from other boards listed in the ongoing
initiative section.
i. This will be discussed at the August Senior Advisory Board meeting.
9. BOARD MEMBER REPORTS-Roundtable minute
a. Each board member and visiting member shared one senior related program or piece of
information with the group.
