ROLL CALL
• Board Members Present – Kelly Barber, Jessica MacMillan, Vicki Fogel Mykles (Vice-
Chair), Audra Vaisbort, Leslie Walker (Chair)

• Guest(s) – Sheri Emerick, Conner Horak-Flood (potential new Board members)
AGENDA REVIEW
• Conner Horak-Flood requested to update the agenda to reflect his full name. The first bullet
under New Business will now read “New Member Introduction – Conner Horak-Flood and
Sheri Emerick”
• Leslie Walker requested to add Capacity Building Workshops as a discussion item under
New Business.
CITIZEN PARTICIPATION
APPROVAL OF MINUTES
• Solara Clark informed the Board that there was a mistake on the roll call section of the
November minutes. Jessica MacMillan attended the November meeting in-person, not
remotely. That edit has been made to the minutes.
• Approval of November 2023 minutes. Vicki Fogel Mykles made a motion to accept the
minutes as amended. Kelly Barber seconded the motion. The motion passed unanimously.
UNFINISHED BUSINESS
NEW BUSINESS
• New Member Introduction – Conner Horak-Flood and Sheri Emerick
o Sheri Emerick introduced herself to the Board.
o Conner Horak-Flood introduced himself to the Board.
o The Board welcomed Sheri and Conner. Their first official meeting with be the
January funding meeting.
• Nick Heimann, Cultural Community Programs Manager – Introduction
o Nick Heimann introduced himself to the Board.
o Nick Heimann gave an overview of Cultural Community Programs.
The Board asked questions about the program.
• Draft Annual Report – Discussion
o Solara Clark reviewed the draft Annual Report.
Nick Heimann noted that Susan Gutowsky’s name was spelled incorrectly.
The spelling was corrected.

Solara Clark informed the Board that her position was releveled. Her new
job title, “Project Coordinator” will be updated in the Annual Report before
submitting.
o After brief discussion, Vicki Fogel Mykles made a motion to approve the Annual
Report with the amendments. Audra Vaisbort seconded the motion. The motion
passed unanimously.
• Capacity Building Workshops - Discussion
o Vicki Fogel Mykles and Leslie Walker updated the Board on their recent meeting
about a Capacity Building Workshop series for 2024.
Vicki Fogel Mykles informed the Board that the workshops are a priority in
the 2024 work plan.
Some ideas for the workshops include audience development, grant
writing, fundraising, doner development, marketing, inclusive audience,
and board of directors development.
o After some brief discussion, the Board agreed to add this to the January agenda
as a short brainstorming session.
DIRECTOR’S REPORT
• Nick Heimann updated the Board on department operations:
o Garden of Lights is currently happening and has been very successful so far.
o The Lincoln Center is in its busy season for outside rentals such as holiday
parties and Nutcracker performances.
o The Fort Collins Museum of Discovery just held their Alebrijes event from
November 29 – December 7, 2023. Artists Óscar and Rubén traveled from
Mexico City to meet members of the community during a series of workshops
dedicated to the art of cartonería. These artists will be returning in March of
2024.
o 2024 Art to Live applications are currently open and will close mid/late January.
o The Director of Cultural Services position is now “closed” and initial interviews
will happen in early January with in-person interviews happening mid-January.
Vicki Fogel Mykles will be serving as a lunch host during the in-person
interviews as a representative of the Cultural Resources Board.
All Board members will be invited to the Community Forum.
BOARD MEMBER REPORTS
• Leslie Walker attended the Museum of Discovery’s Alebrijes event and Control Group
Production’s Bitter Moon performance.
• Audra Vaisbort attended Dance Express’ Celebration of Light and Love performance
and an Off the Hook Art’s fundraiser.
• Jessica MacMillan attended Fort Collins Wind Symphony’s Christmas concert and
Canyon Concert Ballet’s Nutcracker performance.

• Vicki Fogel Mykles attended Fort Collins Children’s Theatre’s The Adams Family
performance, Bas Bleu’s Act Like a Lady performance, and the Fort Collins
Symphony’s “Concierto de Aranjuez” guest guitarist concert. She also visited Launch:
Community Through Skateboarding during one of their Build Your Own Skateboard
Workshops.
OTHER BUSINESS
• Leslie Walker reminded the Board that she will be in Mexico and in her absence,
Vicki Fogel Mykles will be leading the meetings.
ADJOURNMENT
• Jessica MacMillan made a motion to adjourn at 7:15 p.m. Kelly Barber seconded the
motion. The motion passed unanimously.

PROPOSED CuRB WORKSHOPS - 2024
GOAL: Develop a series of free workshops to benefit FF grantees and other non -profits in FC
Where: Fort Collins (City facility; sites to be determined)
When: Bi-annually starting early June
What: Invite local experts to conduct workshops.
How: Determine what money is available from the city to put into workshops
Actions:
o Speakers provide tools and facilitate activities.
o Participants describe 3 actions they will take in the next month related to the topic.
