Feedback on the Emergency Preparedness presentation. MacKenzie Lowe, ADA
Coordinator at Larimer County supports programs, services, and departments meeting
accessibility needs, along with working with the community on ADA. Resource for the
County- Larimer County only has jurisdiction over the jail. MacKenzie networks with
peers for Housing inquiries. Works Rocky Mountain ADA, HUD, and with employment/
HR and the JAN Network. MacKenzie – Let us know what is not working. Did we miss
anything in the presentation that we need to do better with Emergency
Responsiveness.
What if something is not compliant with the ADA? MacKenzie; If it is someone
with the City or County in addressing grievances - Jeni Kohles and I work close
together so either one of us can assist you. We have a lot of resources. Jeni the
ADA Coordinator for the City can assist where needed.
Jo Carol – DRS, Disability Resources Services – Low Vision Programing, work with
Larimer County Client Council and the newly formed Transit Rider Union.
Really good information shared during the presentation. Any concerns the
Committee wants to share? Great information: however, gathering information
together for a “Go Bag” can be a challenge. Look at getting a grant to help. The
County website - add a section for emergency preparedness with a link for those
in the disability community can add information into the database then a case
manager can reach out and consult with them on that information – where to get
a Go Bag for their particular needs. How do you get to the site to enter your
information? How well is it known? ~You can add information – such as
restricted mobility assistance. Is there a link at the County Website for
awareness of NoCo Alert. MacKenzie will add a link to NoCo Alert.
Community Recognition Awards Ceremony. Subcommittee update - Scott,
Jaclyn, and Jeni will meet in mid-July to go over logistics. Rachel is working on
the announcement writing. Savanah Overturf, poet- Jo – knows her and others.
He will reach out to her to contact us.
