Boards and Commissions Fall Recruitment open until Sept. 25. Members with expiring terms
coming up were notified.
Work Plan – Completion for 2022 due at Nov. meeting; carry forward updated plan into 2023
Utilize Linda as a liaison within the Citizen Advisory Committee (CAC) - addressing how
to integrate voluntary database to safeguard those with disabilities with both fire and
police systems.
Transfort – Number one concern/issue.
Continue to stay in touch. Update DAB monthly. Attend Quarterly. Provide documented
goals and progress/status Monthly beginning 2023. DEI plan for Transfort and mirror it.
New funding to add additional person to oversee and work with a potential feasibility
study and work with outreach.
Advocating for the expansion of Dial-a-Ride services for all qualified in the City limits
Remove barriers in application process (review and meet to go over where changes could be

Review Work Plan
• Safety
Action:
Meet with Police Chief about staff training approach when interacting with people with
disabilities including people with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
Added Action:
Assist intersection of City and County Databases that talk about location.
Provide a liaison between the DAB and Citizen Advisory Council. (Linda)
Strategic Objectives Supported:
Improve community involvement, education, and regional partnerships to increase the
level of public trust and keep the community safe. Meet expected level of core and
specialized police services as the community grows. Partner with Poudre Fire Authority
to provide high-quality fire prevention, community risk reduction and emergency
response services. Improve emergency management and preparedness.

• Transportation
Action: Provide for safe & reliable multimodal travel to, from, and throughout the city.
Advocate for 100% of bus stops to be accessible. Advocate for pre pandemic route
availability. Work toward additional ADA accessible parking in the downtown area.
Advocate for improved regional interconnectivity.
Added Action:
Transfort - Monthly reviews and Quarterly updates of key initiatives and on-going projects.
Quarterly attendance of Transfort.
Advocating for the expansion of dial-a-ride services for all qualified individuals within City
limits.

Action: Support the City in hiring people with disabilities through education, training,
and partnership with PSD in creating a school to work pipeline. Introduce ACE, Project
Search and SWAP. Provide People First Language to City Council. Provide input on
City Equity Hiring Guide.

Terry – CSU – hiring those with disability on decline. Emp. w/disabilities leaving.
City do a better job hiring those with disabilities. How to get employer
engagement in hiring those with disabilities.

Action: Continue to highlight/recognize employers who hire people with disabilities
through annual Community Recognition Awards.

approximately 1 month prior to recognition

Neighborhood Livability and Social Health – Address in 2023
Provide a high-quality built environment, support quality, diverse neighborhoods
and foster the social health of the community.
