CALL TO ORDER: 5:41 PM
ROLL CALL
• Board Members Present - Will Flowers (Chair), Jean McGinnis, Timothy Vavra, Leslie
Walker.
• Board Members Absent – Vicki Fogel Mykles, Nandini Singh, Jennifer Zidon (Vice Chair)
• Staff Members Present – Solara Clark, Nick Heimann, Jim McDonald

APPROVAL OF MINUTES
• Approval of August 2022 minutes was tabled due to not meeting quorum requirements.
Approval of the August 2022 minutes will take place at the October meeting.
UNFINISHED BUSINESS
NEW BUSINESS
• Nick Heimann, Cultural Community Program Manager - Update
o Jim McDonald gave some background on how and why the Cultural Community
Program Manager position was created.
o Nick Heimann gave an overview of his role within the Department and how the
American Rescue Plan Act funds the Program.
o Nick Heimann reviewed some previous projects supported by Cultural
Community Programs and gave an overview of what is coming up and in the
planning process.
• 2023 CuRB Workplan Draft – Discussion
o Jim McDonald reviewed the 2023 Workplan.
o The Board discussed changes suggested by Vicki Fogel Mykles for the Workplan
(given to Jim McDonald to relay to the Board prior to the meeting). Staff will
update the Workplan to reflect these changes and will be voted on at the next
meeting.
• Vicki Fogel Mykles suggested that the Board review the Fort Fund contractual
requirements in an upcoming meeting (given to Jim McDonald to relay to the Board
prior to the meeting).
• There was discussion about how to spread the word about serving on the Cultural
Resources Board.

DIRECTOR’S REPORT
• Jim McDonald informed the Board that the Lincoln Center season opened the previous
night.
• Jim McDonald informed the Board of the new Earth Matters exhibit at the Museum of
Discovery.
• Jim McDonald informed the Board of the Urban Design Awards given to Art in Public
Places for works including the sculpture at Whitewater Park, art along Willow Street,
and a hall of fame award for the painted transformer cabinets.
BOARD MEMBER REPORTS
• It was discussed and agreed that the Board would wait to give Board member reports
until the following meeting due to low attendance.
OTHER BUSINES
ADJOURNMENT:
• Jean McGinnis made a motion to adjourn at 7:04 PM. Leslie Walker seconded the
motion. The motion passed unanimously.
