APPROVAL OF MINUTES
Approval of September 2021 minutes. Jennifer Zidon made a motion to accept the minutes.
Jean McGinnis seconded the motion. The motion passed unanimously. Approved by roll call,
Ayes: Will Flowers, Jean McGinnis, Vicki Fogel Mykles, Jennifer Zidon.

NEW BUSINESS
• Seve Ghose, Director of Community Services, City of Fort Collins
o Seve Ghose introduced himself to the Board and gave an overview of the City of Fort
Collins Community Services Department. He shared that there is a new video about
the service area available. Jim McDonald requested that the video be emailed to the
Board.
• Katy Schneider, Director of Marketing, Visit Fort Collins – Update
o The lodging tax collections were back to 2019 levels.
o The Creative Sector Marketing Awareness Campaign (with support from the Cultural
Services Department) is exceeding expectations. A more in-depth presentation will be
shared at the November 18, 2021, meeting. Jim McDonald added that this marketing
campaign supports one of the action items on the Fort Collins Creates Arts and Culture
Master Plan and the Cultural Resources Board 2021 Work Plan.
• Cultural Resources Periodic Review
The Board discussed the Cultural Resources Periodic Review. The Board decided that
they would like to have the Council Liaison (Susan Gutowski) present when reviewing.
Will Flowers will reach out to Councilmember Gutowski to see if she is available for the
November 18, 2021, meeting or another date.

DIRECTOR’S REPORT
Jim McDonald shared:
The 2022 Fort Fund grant application dates are posted on the website plus an email has
been sent. The grant review meetings are January, March, May 2022.
The Lincoln Center is aligning with the performing arts sector and is putting vaccine
verification protocols in place for LC LIVE events. With the County mandate, all visitors to
the Lincoln Center are required to wear masks. Renters and outside productions may
choose to follow the same vaccine verification protocol. The Lincoln Center was awarded a
second Shuttered Venues Operators Grant (SVOG) grant for an additional $600,000.
The Fort Collins Museum of Discovery currently has the exhibit Mental Health: Mind
Matters. It will run until January 2, 2022. He noted there was a teen health fair on October
10, 2021, that attracted over 600 teens.
The Gardens on Spring Creek just produced “Pumpkins on Parade” on 10/21/21-
10/24/21.They had over 6,000 people attend. The next program will be “Garden of Lights”
which runs from December 10th – 26th (excluding the 25th), 2021.
BOARD MEMBER REPORTS
Will Flowers attended “Pumpkins on Parade” at the Gardens on Spring Creek. He
also attended Canyon Concert Ballet’s production of “Broadway and Beer” at Bas
Bleu Theatre.
Vicki Fogel Mykles attended a performance of “Dracula” at Debut Theatre.
Jean McGinnis attended the Fort Collins Symphony’s performance of “Music’s in the
Air” at the Hixon residence. She noted that it was a challenge to track the liaison
events and dates. Jim McDonald stated that staff will be looking into a way to track
upcoming events with a possible master calendar.
Jennifer Zidon had a very positive second-hand report on the 2021 Fort Collins Book
Festival.
Jim McDonald added that he attended a Sustain Music and Nature event, held in the
Poudre Canyon. It was a combination of hiking and music.
Jennifer Zidon asked if Aquiles Quiroga has left the Board. Jim McDonald confirmed
that Aquiles Quiroga has left the Board due to work obligations.

Vicki Fogel Mykles made a motion to adjourn at 6:25 PM. Jennifer Zidon seconded the
motion. The motion passed unanimously. Approved by roll call, Ayes: Will Flowers, Jean
McGinnis, Vicki Fogel Mykles, Jennifer Zidon.
